It'll be interesting to see how this will unfold in the coming years. Many fast food joints are already seeing increasing automation

Self checkout in stores are also becoming increasingly common, meaning less people need to be hired. Even the cafeteria at the hospital I work at only employs 1 person - the fry cook. There used to be like 6 people before things became automated there

With increasing automation, things like UBI will become a near necessity.
