I just find it extremely funny that you call Misty the pervert when it is actually yourself who is the pervert.
Yeh its real funny to an avatar in a raincoat I suppose:cool: Then you could qualify your opinion, but I bet you wont.

Is the Music Video about Masturbation? If not it might be Off-Topic ^_^

Personally, I thought both the ladies in the video were very hot and sexy, even the green chick. I must admit, it made me think about masturbation.

Defending?

Seems to me that you really need to either pay better attention to the contents of my posts or actually understand my posts before making such ridiculous, and false, accusations.

In my own defense, I was trying to broaden my sexual horizons somewhat. I was fantazing about doing it with two chicks, one of which is green. Now, come on, that's something we all must admit just doesn't happen every day. As a matter of fact, other than Captain James T. Kirk, I bet you there aren't many guys who have been lucky enough to make it with it a green woman.

We have failed to uphold Brannigan's Law. However I did make it with a hot alien babe. And in the end, is that not what man has dreamt of since first he looked up at the stars?

Captain Zapp Brannigan

I suppose; I just think the fantasy would be better with a green man, instead of green woman.

I make a distinction between thoughts, perhaps fantasies, of sexual encounters and lusting after them, which would fall under one or more of the following definitions.
1. intense sexual desire or appetite.
2. uncontrolled or illicit sexual desire or appetite; lecherousness.
3. a passionate or overmastering desire or craving
So, basically you have established a difference in your mind between what would cause you to lust, and the act of lusting itself. Is that fair to say? I do the same thing. I have always liked the saying, “You can’t stop a bird from flying over your head, but you can stop him from making a nest in your hair.”

I guess under your definition of purpose as you've expressed it---sexual acts are only for pleasing others---masturbation would be short changing someone else. But even if they don't want to be pleased at the time? After all, what's the harm in eating a burger by yourself when the other person isn't hungry, and later sharing one with them later?
Nothing, as it pertains to food. However, the bible treats the issues of lust, marriage, and sex very, very seriously, and any mishandling of those issues could have eternal consequences. So, in my mind, the same logic can’t apply in this case.

Well gee, it's no wonder you have such a harsh POV about masturbation. You and your wife both internalize ugliness when the Big Bad Lust starts to loom over your heads. No wonder you both feel ugly and awful.
May I ask how, in your view, we are we internalizing ugliness? I can’t help that my wife felt betrayed when I looked at other women. But I can honor her feelings by avoiding that.

Bain isn't in a tiny minority, though.
Those who never view pornography while masturbating are in the minority.

I am unfamiliar with this acronym.

That being said, I won't offer any advice to you or judge you personally. I AM rather sad that you and your wife have suffered so much emotionally because of sexual urges.
Thanks. The bible emphasizes self-control. Society emphasizes self-indulgence. Following the Bible naturally leads to certain conclusions that a lot of people today either don’t understand, or don’t agree with. I realize that not everyone follows what the Bible says, so, I see why those people don’t have a problem with masturbation and why they don’t agree with my position on it. But the OP asked an open question, so I attempted to answer it the best I could, whatever that’s worth.

Of course. The causes of X are not X themselves.

Your post seemed to point to the feelings of "I feel ugly whenever I feel sexual urges for the sake of pleasure." Whether it's you who feels that you're dirty, ugly, filthy, or your wife who feels as if she's not good enough for you. That's what I see. So, yes, it seems as if the two of you are internalizing a feeling of ugliness, and that makes my heart go out to the both of you.

Based on what? Do you have a source? We all have our fantasies to fall back on, you know. And it isn't as if vibrators are sold with a pack of adult film DVDs. ;)

Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgendered, Queer (I see TW has answered that already).

Fair enough. Anyone is free to live how they see fit. And if you are happier this way, more power to you. I only take issue when sexual restrictions are made into law, such as the anti-sodomy laws and the laws against same sex marriage. But I also take issue whenever misinformation is presented about sex and sexuality....and if you scroll back a few pages, you'll see a terrible tirade about women and orgasms. :D

Maybe I am in the minority, but when I masturbated I thought of my husband. This was especially the case when he was working as a truck driver. When he is home, he is still the only one I think about. He and I do have a unique relationship anyways. I don't get upset when he looks at other women and he doesn't get upset when I look at other men(or women :) ). We both know the other isn't going anywhere, so a "look but don't touch" means a lot.

Au contraire. Druid women are *very* green, or so we've been told often and not always in a complimentary manner - therefore my fiance makes it with a green woman all the time. ;)

Speaking as an outsider, this is one of the church's major weaknesses. Never, ever, EVER has the institutionalized church been able to handle sexuality in a healthy way. It ends up being repressed, perverted, suppressed, abused, or mishandled much of the time as a result.

Sexuality is a drive the same as hunger; you develop an appetite for it as you do for food. The nervous system is engaged in different ways (hunger's satisfaction engages the parasympathetic nervous system, slowing all body systems except endocrine and digestive; sex engages sympathetic NS, engaging musculoskeletal and endocrine). Both receive sensory input which allow pleasure to be [part of] the experience.

Both food and sex are, in themselves, inert. They are both part of a healthy lifestyle, but they can both be abused to the point of becoming very unhealthy.

The fact that your religion makes sex into such a big deal that it bears 'eternal consequences' is not healthy, imho. As soon as you put a label on something that says, 'FORBIDDEN', it is a *guarantee* there will be mass fascination with it that easily and often turns obsessive, particularly with those people who have vulnerable psyches.

I believe that most human beings naturally have a sense of proportion about sex just as we do about food. Most of us do not become gluttons simply because we can afford to buy enough food to gorge ourselves on a regular basis; similarly, if you leave people the hell alone about sex, most of us do not turn into raving nymphomaniacs prone to gang-rape anything that walks past.

When you put undue prohibitions on either, however, you breed this strange, unhealthy attitude toward it. People become furtive and guilty, because they suddenly feel that their natural urges are "evil". Guilt perpetuates itself, and many people end up obsessing because they were never taught to see sex as a reasonable, rational, pleasing, healthy part of life.

So in the end, all too often the monsters all the institutions ostensibly make their rules to guard against only begin to exist BECAUSE of those rules.
