I am getting married soon and I am catholic. My fiance and I are getting married in a non-denominational wedding. I think this is fine, although are there any repurcussions from my religion for doing this?

You should probably ask your priest or local parish.

The Bible addresses the issue, and suggests believers and non-believers not be married (See below). Is your spouse-to-be a believer and just does not want a Catholic wedding, or is he a non-beliver? If the former, I see nothing wrong with a non-denominational wedding so long as it is Christian; if the latter, then I would pray long and hard about the relationship.

The Catholic Church itself does have some interesting rules and doctrine on marriage to non-Catholics and related matters. I do not think they are Biblical, but if this is of concern to you, I would definitely talk to your priest.

    2 Corinthians 6: 14-16

14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
15 And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?
16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

What if he's a true believer and knows that catholocism is stitched with errors

I have this very same issue going on RIGHT NOW! Basically, it is crap, but here is the "official" Catholic line on this issue. Youe marriage will NOT count one the eyes of the Catholic church. Because marriage is a holy sacrament, the Catholic Church (in its infinite wisdom) decided that Catholics MUST be married by a Catholic priest INSIDE a catholic church. You cannot even have an outside wedding. Anything else will not be considered "real" and you will be unmarried living in sin! *gasp*  UNLESS!!!!!!! You apply for a "FORM OF MARRIAGE DISPENSATION". Basically, this is a little piece of paper saying you are a big girl and can make up your own mind, and your wedding will count, so now you can still be a good catholic girl and live happily ever after. Ask your local parish priest or go directly to your bishop or something. I am still trying to get this part figured out myself but you can also read about it on the internet. GOOD LUCK!!!
