Loving The Bible
Study The Bible Because You Love It
Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. 2 Timothy 2:15.
I want you to read the Bible because you love it, not because you are driven to it, for then it will be an unpleasant task. But if you neglect the reading of the Bible, you will lose your love for it.
Those who love the word of God are those who read it most. By reading and searching out scripture references, you will see the chain of truth, and will see new beauties in the word of God.
While you make the scriptures more your study, and become more familiar with them, you will be better fortified against the temptations of satan.
When inclined to speak, or act, wrong, some scripture will come to arrest you, and turn you right.
It is not natural for the heart to love the Bible; but when it is renewed by grace, then the mind will feast upon the rich truths and promises contained in the word of God.
Systematically Study The Scriptures
They received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
2 Thessalonians 2:10.
Let us not love in word, neither in tongue, but in deed and in truth. 1 John 3:18.
Love the truth and peace. Zechariah 8:19.
I will direct their work in truth. Isaiah 61:8.
Observe system in the study of the scriptures in your families. Neglect anything of a temporal nature, . . .... Do not break up your home class for callers or visitors. If they come in during the exercise, invite them to take part in it. Let it be seen that you consider it more important to obtain a knowledge of God's word than to secure the gains or pleasures of the world.
Meditate Upon His Love And Mercy
God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through
sanctification of the spirit and belief of the truth. 2 Thessalonians 2:13.
Study Revelation
Blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book. Revelation 22:7.
These are the true words of God. Revelation 19:9.
"Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein." Revelation 1:3.
Rising Above Sins Degradation
But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name, which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. John 1:11, 12.
Becoming Acquainted With Jesus
These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the son of God, that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the son of God. 1 John 5:13.
And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus christ, whom thou hast sent. John 17:3.
Search the scriptures, for in them ye think ye have eternal life, and they are they which testify of me. John 5:39.
