For nearly two years a pandemic of biblical proportions has enveloped our planet, and while that plague brought a halt to almost everything socially, obviously it did not bring a halt to brutality, violence, and cruel aggression politically—nationally or internationally. As if that were not enough, we are still facing long-standing social and cultural challenges, ranging from economic deprivation to environmental desecration to racial inequity and more.

Of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles

    Fear Not: Believe Only!

I have been fighting for the environment and racial opportunity for a long time. I will look for ways to help with the economic deprivation.

I don't think you can stop human nature, but one can certainly influence their own inner circle.

The OP reminds me of one of my all time favorite Peanuts strips. I'm with Linus.

Claiming to be for the environment whilst supporting unchecked population growth policy is to talk out of both sides of your mouth.

    In my opinion.

    " Twelve Apostles "

Did Jesus name the twelve apostles and fix its quorum, please?
If yes, please quote from him, please. Right?

    Regards

We don't support unchecked population growth.

"We declare that God’s commandment for His children to multiply and replenish the earth remains in force"

Reference: The family: a proclamation to the world

Sure sounds like an unchecked population growth policy to me.

    In my opinion.

    Yes, but responsibly.

As we multiply, we need to take stewardship over the land and protect the environment.

It even said we need to fight long-term environmental desecration in my OP, removing all doubt.

It doesn't say to "multiply responsibly" and even if it did, the world population is already at a stage were it is causing irresponsible effects on the environment, so you can't multiply the world's population without multiplying those effects.

It is irresponsible language on the part of your so called prophets.

    In my opinion.

I think replenish means fill up to a reasonable level, but all the same, you can't avoid the OP:

"As if that were not enough, we are still facing long-standing social and cultural challenges, ranging from economic deprivation to environmental desecration to racial inequity and more."

Clearly he stated in the last General Conference that we have a long problem with environmental desecration.

Multiply means to increase the population, replenish means not beyond capacity, and subdue means control the earth as in climate change for one thing.

We are already beyond capacity, to say the command to multiply remains in force could cause lots of confusion if what you are really calling for is for people to stop multiplying because you are already at capacity.

Personally I think your leaders could have at least clarified that we are already at capacity in that family proclamation thing I referenced. But they didn't and that's very telling.

It honestly sounds to me like you are trying to walk back a dog whistle at the least.

    In my opinion.

You are using your imagination to fill in what a responsible leader would have made explicit.

Im not avoiding the OP, I acknowledged the contradiction which takes it into account.

Yes and there is no explicit acknowledgement of the role overpopulation plays in that. I think you should encourage your leaders to have a clarifying "revelation" on that.

    In my opinion.

Isn't our population already using resources faster than they can be replenished? Aren't our individual carbon footprints creating a climate crisis? That's not sustainable. We should be working to decrease our impact on the environment, by decreasing our numbers.

    Multiply: Gradually multiply.
Replenish: As the human elevator gets bigger don't go past capacity.
Subdue: Control the earth so it can sustain us.

    The OP is clear.

P x S x E x C = CO2 (carbon dioxide output). P, the number of people, is non-negotiable when there are souls wanting to come to earth. We want to and dramatically need to do S, E and C.
