Friend BLang,
Welcome to RF.

Jesus offered his own life for us that we may have eternal life with him.

Your statement if interpreted in the ways of dharmic religions it would be stated as:
Jesus died consciously and showed us the way to live and die consciously so that one can end this cycle of birth and death.

Love & rgds

I'm not sure what dharmic religions are, but It means that Jesus was the only acceptable sacrifice for us. We must put our faith in him and be baptized. We must live a life of loving God with our whole hearts, minds, and souls; And love our neighbors as ourselves.
Thankyou for the nice welcome!:)

Christians consider Christ to be the Son of God for the same reason you consider Allah to be the prophet; because they were told so since before they were old enough to know better. Chances are overwhelming that had you been brought up in Alabama, you'd believe it too.

Autodidact, are you saying that monotheistic beliefs stem from a lack of education? It is an arguable concept. Studies show that a higher percentage of Americans who have sought higher education are atheists than Americans of any other educational level. However, others say that religion has made its way into every corner of the world, and all of the greatest civilizations of the past followed some form of religion. It is true that you are far more likely to share religious belief's with those that raised you, however each religion functions as a moral guidline which can successfully guide a culture.

This is true, but is not what I'm saying. What I'm saying is that the great majority of religious believers, whether mono-theistic or not, subscribe to the religion they were trained to accept as children. Later education has only a small impact on that. It's not about intelligence or education, primarily, it's about the impact of adult shaping of young children's neurological networks, which is powerful.
Most cultures are religious, but each one follows a different religion. The people raised in each of those religions persist in the delusion that their beliefs are logical and supported by the evidence, and just happen by sheer coincidence to comport with what they were taught as children.
