It's up to us

Here's one I barely remember writing ...

It's up to the strong to help the weak

It's up to the rich to help the poor

It's up to the less broken to help the more broken

It's up to the calm to help the angry

It's up to the tranquil to help the agitated

It's up to the haves to help the have nots

It's up to the compassionate to help the judgemental

It's up to the curious to help the disenchanted

It's up to those with clarity to help the confused

It's up to the loved to help the unloved

It's up to the serene to help the desperate

It's up to the creative to help the uninspired

It's up to the humble to help the arrogant

It's up to you to help me

It's up to me to help you

It's up to the enlightened to help the rest of us

The time has come the worker said to speak of many things
Of managements and bosses of Governments and Kings
Of men who take their places of superiority,
They're there because the worker sees fit that they should be
For like the mighty trees they stand to feed and shelter all
The meek, the mild, the humble ones, the workers of the soil.
But if a tree no longer bears nor shelters from the storm
Then to the axe and bring it down, its fires will keep us warm.

So the moral of this story is, If you're up there on top
Then take the job seriously, or you might just get the chop.
