Is this a shakeup in Israel?

I don't expect that to last long given the political differences but that's not the point. Getting rid of Netanyahu is the point.

I ran into a story that illustrated how very odd the coalition truly is when viewed from the usual perspective: Bennet, Lapid and Abbas — sound a bit like someone’s idea of a good political joke. “So a Jewish settlement leader, a secular journalist and an Islamist walk into a bar …” Opinion | Could something good just have happened in the Middle East?

The odds may be long, but if they manage to work together for a couple of years against all odds, then intractable mess that is the region might just start down a new path, albeit one strewn with thorns and boulders.

Think Biden-Pence-AOC ...

Meanwhile:

Joint List urges Bennett to nix Jerusalem flag march, warning of escalation

The Joint List opposition party urges Prime Minister Naftali Bennett to cancel the Jerusalem flag march planned for tomorrow, which is set to pass through the Old City’s Muslim quarter.

“We warn ahead of time that the event is highly likely to reignite tensions and lead to dangerous violence and escalation,” the party says.

Earlier today, Palestinian terror group Hamas warned that the event could spark another war similar to last month’s, which followed a similar event on Jerusalem Day.

Stay tuned.

And ...

noting ...

Labor’s Omer Barlev says such demonstrations, albeit controversial are allowed in any democracy, as Hamas threatens escalation if it goes forward, Joint List urges its cancellation

Of course, one might expect that in many, if not most, democracies permits are granted only after due consideration is given to such things as route.

Like in Northern Ireland, where it was definitely never a problem when the Unionists marched their flag parades through Catholic neighbourhoods as an act of deliberate provocation.
