Is pornography wrong?

I was just wondering what people think about this. Personally, I have no problems with it as long as the person concerned is doing it by choice.

Think its fine. Just another form of entertainment. Don't believe any valid studies have linked it to any kind of harmful behavior. I guess it could become an addiction just like gambling, etc, But we probably wouldn't have the internet without it! Ha.

I was listening to a psychologist yesterday on this subject. He was talking of a strong connection between anger and lust. The more anger you have the more you lust. He mentioned that people caught up in porn have a tendency to not be able to have a normal relationship with a real person. He mentioned that people with sex addictions (porn addiction included) are angry and probably with a parent, for men the mother. I agree that if porn is a minor part of your life and you have a choice in it, it probably isn't harmful. I do believe, though, that the goal should be having good relationships with real people.

Pornography is a deadly progressive sin. It inflames one of the strongest drives that a person is born with. Advertisers have known that this is true for years. Every year it seems that they keep pushing it a little more than the year before. I have seen how a person ends up towards the end of this addiction. It sure doesn't take long for the persons life to be altered dramatically.

I dunno, the quality of lesbian porn is improving I think. You just have to search around. But I know what you mean "real" as a lot of the lesbian porn is designed for males. Ha.

sure, its deadly. thanks for the news.

There's nothing wrong with pornography. And dan, how do you know what God finds excrutiating? If God didn't want us having sex, he would have made us asexual.

Americans need to lighten up. Take a look at prime time television over in Europe and South America. And they are just as civilized and intelligent, if not more so, than we are.

And Irenicas starts another debate... glorious.

Anyway, I will say that the way that people approach pornography is much more interesting that pornography itself. It's an inbuilt urge to look at people you find attractive naked. If you're Christian, then God made you like that, and so you can't complain, and if you're not then you know that anyway. We like to see naked bottoms. And there's nothing wrong with that.
I agree that we should be looking for "healthy" relationships (whatever THAT means), but I know that in the past I have watched porn with a partner, for ideas more than anything else. It doesn't neccesarily mean that you don't look for a relationship just because you look at porn too.
Another thing that I find interesting it the way the legal controls on porn are organised. I live in the UK, and there are some seriously wierd laws governing it all. For example, the age of consent is 16, but to buy or watch porn you legaly have to be 18. What sense does that make?
