I have read that magick and doing spells is all about intent. Is that right? And how effective how you guys found spells to be? Thanks.

I disagree. While intent is important, skill is certainly needed as well, along with proper procedure, etc. The most important aspect of magic is finding what works for you and then finding how to use it. As far as spells go, they're definitely magic but most here probably don't use them. Once you become adept at magic there are no specific spells or rituals; your actions are the spells and your life is the ritual.
