Inner child journal prompts

I usually do shadow work by journaling. Shadow work is trying to understand the hidden parts of yourself. Right now I'm trying to think of a journal prompt that works with the inner child. I can't think of any having trouble thinking of one. Anyone got any prompt ideas?

How do you usually go about writing these prompts? Are you writing fiction, poetry, stream-of-consciousness texts? Do you reflect on a previous experience that you think will bring out that part of yourself?
