Human nature

You have been endowed with far more potential than you may have been led to believe
Forgiving everybody for their flaws is a tried and tested way to relieve
Kindness and patience are delightful and wonderful qualities to achieve
Practice compassion along with courage and you will have little reason to grieve

Your ego is such a troublesome character
It is often quite loud rather than a soft murmur
The Golden Rule is well worth our consideration
Imagine if we practiced it in every situation

Wisdom and understanding are worthy of our pursuit
Why not offer someone a piece of your fruit
You may need to work to earn a little more loot
Why not greet everyone with a friendly salute

Humanity itself is just beginning to awaken
Watching the news you may think I am mistaken
Soon all of our present slumber will be shaken
Don't worry if your arms and legs are achin

This poem is just about finished and complete
Make sure you rub your partner's sore feet
Your family may need another pizza to eat
We are all on a long journey that will not end in our defeat
