How to handle hate?

I guess I was lucky. Most people I dealt with must have realized I wasn't Christian, and when I announced that I was converting and moving, they kind of went, "Oh Well. It was nice knowing you."
The only one that had a really fit was my mother, but she didn't really understand was Judaism was about.
She thought it was all oppressive and stuff on women. I don't think she ever understood my decision.

Dealing with these types of Catholics (think Mel Gibson) I would be virtually stoned to death if I even opened my mouth...

We Jews have groups which are just as extreme as the Traditional Latin Rite types, they're called haredi. No extremism is from G-d, in my view. I think all groups be they political or religious have extreme fringe like this.

I think G-d is leading you out of this environment, now you see how toxic it truly is. It will be painful, sure, but think of it as detoxification. May G-d bless you and give you strength, and new friends to lift your spirits.

Shalom

Agreed. However, iT might be a mistake to lump all Haredi into the same group as, NK, Sicarii and Eidah. Even though the different sects are having political marriages not all Haredi are as...toxic.
