Friday Night Fish Fry

Wandered Off

Sporadic Driveby Member
My wife walked by our tank Friday and noticed a fish belly-up. She looked a bit more closely, and several weren't doing well. We have cichlids, which are aggressive, and murder sprees are not all that uncommon. We immediately suspected our Jewel cichlid, who has killed a few in the past. She touched the glass and it felt very warm. The thermometer said it was 100 degrees F (80 is normal). We lost five fish, but we got new ones Sunday, and now they're having to fight it out into the new pecking order.

For a relaxing hobby, it's not really.

My friend's cichlid killed a half-dollar sized piranha.
