Forced organ harvesting: What can the UN do about it?

‘Representatives of a tribunal set up to investigate allegations of forced organ harvesting by Chinese authorities have urged the United Nations to act immediately to stamp out the practice.’

Source: Organ harvesting of ethnic and religious minorities happening on a 'significant scale'

So what can the UN practically do? Would it be practical for example to impose sanctions against China or would it only be possible to officially condemn and criticise the practice?

Will anyone stand up to the Chinese about this? I don't see it happening, unfortunately.

There is nothing the UN can do about China on ANY issue since China has a veto on the UN Security Council. All five permanent members have the ability to veto resolutions against their countries.

The UN might be able to make a resolution in the General Assembly about this and other human rights violations, if they haven't done so already. Another possibility might be to take it to the World Court, but most of it would end up being symbolic and non-binding, since no one seems willing to take any serious action against China.
