Fate of the Earth

I saw yet another “climate change will ruin everything” post. I also just finished some Bible reading with the family

Isa 13:
10 For the stars of heaven and the constellations thereof shall not give their light: the sun shall be darkened in his going forth, and the moon shall not cause her light to shine.

13 Therefore I will shake the heavens, and the earth shall remove out of her place, in the wrath of the Lord of hosts, and in the day of his fierce anger.

So this is coming why would I worry about the little stuff?

Thoughts?

Yes you are right. There are so many things going on in the world, if we concerned ourselves with every possible event we might miss the bigger the picture.

One thing we can be assured of is this. Psalm 104:5 “He has founded the earth upon its established places; it will not be made to totter to time indefinite, or forever.”

The earth is safe. God will not allow the earth to be destroyed. Even though climate change is a problem now, it is not beyond Gods ability to restore it, rejuvenate and repair it.

Nothing is beyond Almighty God..
However, He has made us vicegerents over the Earth.
It is our responsibility to look after it !

We must suffer the consequences if we don't.

yes, i think you mean 'viceregents' lol

And its very true, we have been given dominion over the earth to care for it as its caretakers. Unfortunately, decades of abuse have led to the slow ruination of the climate as we are experiencing now. And sadly, it is beyond our ability to restore the earth and repair the damage.

The destructive storms, floods, earthquakes we see all around the world are further evidence that the world of mankind has lost control and have no ability to manage themselves. God will step in very soon to protect whats left and those whom he has written in his book of life.

We know this because Jesus foretold these events and he told us that when they occur, that is the time when God will act.

Matthew 24:
3 While he was sitting on the Mount of Olives,+ the disciples approached him privately, saying: “Tell us, when will these things be, and what will be the sign of your presence+ and of the conclusion of the system of things?”+
4 In answer Jesus said to them: ...
7 “For nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom,+ and there will be food shortages+ and earthquakes in one place after another.+ 8 All these things are a beginning of pangs of distress.... 19 Woe to the pregnant women and those nursing a baby in those days!+ 20 Keep praying that your flight may not occur in wintertime nor on the Sabbath day; 21 for then there will be great tribulation+ such as has not occurred since the world’s beginning until now, no, nor will occur again.+ 22 In fact, unless those days were cut short, no flesh would be saved; but on account of the chosen ones those days will be cut short.+

Things are foretold to get so bad that if God does not step in, no one would survive whats coming.

"The vicegerency of humans, as the first principle of the Islamic narrative, maintains that all of humanity has been entrusted with the preservation and distribution of God's creation"

It isn't "beyond our ability" .. it is just that people are more concerned about worldly wealth than environment.
..short-termism .. we are weak.

While I agree with this, we still have a duty to discuss and take action, as much as we are able.
Some places/people will suffer more than others.
There is going to be much bloodshed. :(

If that's the case, then why are you here?

Context is everything. In the context of making climate change, I have no reason to be anywhere. In the context of physical life on earth rather than be in Heaven, I believe this is where the action is and I want to participate.

Keep in mind Revelation 11:18, last sentence.
IMO, God will step in before it’s totally ruined.

I mean, the Scripture is actually telling us that men would be ruining the Earth, in the Last Days!
IMO.

I believe it does say He will destroy the earth because men are destroying it. It does not say how we are doing that but my guess is that the road to Hell is paved with good intentions and the changes we are making to save the planet are destroying it.
