Ever wanted a Robot Dog?

Well, now you can. BostonDynamics is now selling SPOT, a robot dog.

Video gives the specs. I'm not sure what you'd use this thing for? But. I bet someone will figure out something soon enough.

Imagine several of these patrolling your halls, at night... as the battery gets low, it goes to recharge, and activates the next in line, for continuous patrol duty.

Imagine a TASER mounted to subdue an intruder... non-lethal, so it's (more or less) legal...

That is indeed scary.

I can think of some good uses: picking litter, killing fire ant mounds, removing kudzu, tending crops, separating recyclables.
