Erectile Dysfunction

I'm a 20 year old suffering from ED. Due to medication im on, mainly SSRI's, i have completely lost my sex drive and ability to function as a healthy young adult should. Because of this my relationship with my girlfriend has been harder than usual. She thinks its her fault and its because im not attracted to her, when she is the most stunning woman on the planet... This thread is for any one with the affliction or any females that have experienced it. I am also going to begin a herbal diet to try to combat the illness, including yohimbine, 7-keto DHEA, and Tongkat Ali. Any other suggestions? Or any other medications i should look into?

Perhaps your girlfriend should speak to a councelor. To blame herself for your medically diagnosed ED seems unnecessarily harsh. Does she blame herself for most things?

Have you considered going off of the medication and onto a different medication? I'm thinking that Welbutrin has a low risk of sexual side effects but I'm not sure.

Hi,
Don't worry erectile dysfunction can be treated with the help of medication. This medication works by helping the blood flow into the penis to realize and preserve an erection during sexual stimulation.

If you don't mind me asking, are you on an amphetamine anti-depressant or something? Any stimulant will have a negative impact on erections.

As mentioned, discuss this with your doctor and s/he will probably change you to something different. If that fails, you'll probably be prescribed something like Viagra.

I don't think there will be a response anytime soon. The OP is from 2006.

That's quote common and it very well could be performance anxiety. It's nothing to be ashamed of and it's NOT your fault. Our bodies do unexplained things sometimes. I've actually encountered a similar problem. The doctor helped with some meds and he also suggested a penis pump to use with the meds. The pump is a safe way to get an erection. Your doctor may suggest one for you, it's a very common tool. Skip the electric ones and get a manual pump which is what we did and they work very well for a fraction of the cost. You can get a pump online here but before you shop you may want to ask your doctor in case there are other underlying issues. Good luck and I hope all works out well for you!

Long time ago I came across yohimbine lotion "It is thought to work by increasing the body's production of certain chemicals that promote erections." which obviosuyl is talking about blood flow.I read it's supposed to be an aphrodisiac too so maybe you can get double duty.

Possibly though it's all physiological, just like oysters (they sure don't make me horny!) but sometimes it's all you need to get that extra boost.

Maybe you can try acupuncture, I know it's a popular solution for fertility and it may be the same for this situation.
