Easter

I recall from my childhood that the UUs do celebrate Easter... unfortunatly, I cannot recall how.

Interestingly enough, when my mother recently discovered I have an interest in religion (I can't BELIEVE she did not notice until I started writing about it!) she suggested going back to the UU church again. We're going this Sunday, for Easter.

It will be my first time in a UU Church since I was 10... any idea what I can expect?

Well this will be my first Easter as a UU. But I can tell you of what I know is planned for Sunday at my church. We will have two services (we do every Sunday, an early service and a later one, usually they are the same, but will be different for Easter), the early service is called, “Life After Death” and will be a traditional observation of the most significant Christian holiday, as it can be observed by Unitarian Universalists.

The second service is called, “A Celebration of Spring, Renewal, and Life.” This will be an Intergenerational Service with an Easter parade, music, and a naming ceremony for one of our newest members. There will be a brief homily for all ages (the kids usually go to RE during this serivce, but will stay with their parents this week). After the service, the children are having an Easter egg hunt (with plastic eggs, no real eggs lol).

That's about all I know that is going to happen.
