there are temples to narasimha and there is one temple to brahma in india in a place called pushkar.
anyways narasimha or half man/ half lion is part of what is known as the dasavathara or the 10 incarnations of the lord vishnu, as outlined by this sloka.
matsya kurma varahascha narasimhascha vamanah, ramo ramethi ramacha, krishna kalki janardhanah.
the 10 avataras are matsya - fish kurma - turtle, varaha - boar, narasimha (the protagonist of this discussion) vamana - dwarf, rama - parasurama the son of jamadagni and a warrior sage, rama - sri rama the son of dasaratha and here of ramayana, rama - balarama, son of vasudeva and elder brother of krishna, krishna - son of vasudeva and hero bhagavatha, kalki - the last avatara is supposed to happen in this kali yuga.
anyways i think that it is possible that these individuals or animals are a mixture of myths for the first few and human beings like you and me who were heros for the latter few, so the people made them gods and the last one is Hope.
hope it is useful
