District 9

Saw "District 9" today. I thought it was exceptionally well done.

If you've seen it, what did you think of it?

Do you think the lead protagonist was a credible character?

Was the movie plausible in describing how humans would treat aliens?
I loved it, man. I think it describes how humans often treat humans. I was worried I might cry (worried cause I was in a theater with the girlfriend) if the dude didn't help the wee alien child and his father.

saw it today, is one of the best movies ive seen in quite some time

*edit* tho i would say that i think the treatment of the aliens was actually not realistic. i think gov's would be much more concerned with diplomatic relations & not being blown to hell from a reprisal.

Love that film. Even to the detail that the aliens have eyes that are together, in front of their faces, like humans--yes--but also other predators. Prey animals have eyes on the sides, so you can tell by just this deatail that the aliens and humans have alot in common, even though it would seem we dont on the surface.

Yep, i love it! Peter Jackson is fulfilling the role many thought Lucas would; but Lucas was too selfish and egotistical---spending all his time building his own personal mythos/empire. PJ is actually giving young creative directors a chance to put their ideas on film, giving us a true alternative to the big Hollywood studio system, which of course gives us not much beyond total crap. :D
