Define Your Terms

All I'd like is folks in this thread to tell us how they define these terms:

Liberalism.
From liberty, freedom.

Liberals like personal freedom. They think the state should restrict personal freedom is little as possible and protect rights (like freedom of speech, freedom to assemble, right to arm bears, etc.) as much as possible.

Libertarianism.

Also pro freedom but the focus is more on commercial freedom. The state should regulate the market as little as possible and keep taxes low.

Rightism/The Right.

Leftism/The Left.
Stems from the parliament of the French Revolution, as @Shadow Wolf pointed out.
The terms only have relative meaning as "the left" in one country could be right of the middle in another.
Traditionally the left is associated with socialism, liberalism, progressivism while the right is associated with fascism, libertarianism, conservatism but they may not display tendencies in all directions everywhere.

Conservatism. Multiple meanings. One is Trump supporter. Another is pro judicial activism in some areas such as against abortion and LGBTQ equality. Affirming the value of tradition.

Liberalism. Again multiple meanings. Democrat. Pro judicial activism in some areas such as being in favor of a woman's right to choose and LGBTQ equality. Affirming the value of change.

Rightism/The Right. Trump supporter. Pro authoritarianism. Pro aggressive use of power.

Leftism/The Left. Trump opponent. Against authoritarianism. Pro inclusive use of power.

Capitalism. A vague term for many different variants of social and business organization mostly market focused but in some cases monopolistic.

Socialism. A vague term for many different variants of social and business organization ranging from libertarian socialism, christian socialism, social democratcy etc.

Libertarianism. anti-government control of personal choices and business.

Fascism. A form of authoritarian dictatorship

Communism. A good philosophy married with a terrible implementation.

Nation. A geographical entity linked by a flag and a common set of laws.

State. Either synonym for 'nation' or in the USA a regional entity.

Serious but also tedious answer, dictionaries aren't good for handling dynamic ideas. An encyclopedia is better but still plenty of room for expansion in most. Most of these things I wouldn't feel comfortable giving a single paragraph, let alone single sentence definition, or I would preface that no single line could be authoritive and all encompassing. Same with most philosophy and social science.
Fair enough. Trite but serious response: some people's notions of what these terms mean make me wonder about their sources. Stereotypical example: an American's idea of what socialism means.

Selflessly here for you
Conservatism: wants to maintain status quo and conserve what is or has been (what is/has been varies).

Liberalism: values personal responsibility and freedom of choice, above collective responsibility and [sense of] security.

Libertarianism: values liberty; in particular freedom from [state] oppression (French Revolution style).

Capitalism: values personal ownership and free markets.

Socialism: values collective responsibility and [sense of] security, above personal responsibility and freedom of choice.

Fascism: looks down on the weak and sees others as ignorant parasites, unable to make decisions for selves. In other words; believes in personal responsibility without freedom of choice.

Communism: values state ownership and no free markets. Sees others as unable to make decisions for selves and denies personal freedom, in name of economic equality.

To make a very, very long story short and as vulgarised as possible.

Conservatism:
A political philosophy that supports a system of class and a strong hierarchy where a series of greater rule over a series of lesser based on a longstanding tradition derived from history and a particular nation's culture. In the modern Western world, it's the idea that the members of the upper class, based on their wealth, should have a greater amount of power and authority on politics and culture than the lower classes. Deviation from traditionnal social norms is frowned upon as are any significant change to the economical system that set the hierarchy in place.

Liberalism: A political philosophy that support the idea of a lose hierarchy based on humanist, equalitarian and democratic ideals as developped during the late Middle Ages to today. Deviation from social norms are accepted and often embraced as long as they do not threaten others safety. Open to cultural and economical changes as long as it leads toward greater freedom and equity.

Rightism/The Right: The political wing that trends toward conservatism. The more on the right the more conservative it gets, from "fiscal/progressive conservatives" down to reactionaries who want to return the world to a past state.

Libertarianism: A political philosophy that combines the ideals of capitalism and liberalism to create a society in which individual freedom is maximised and all sense of collectivity is diluted as much as possible.

Fascism:
A political philosophy that combines the ideals of conservatism and socialism to create a society in which individual freedom are reduced to a minimum for the benefit of an ruling elite class and a homogenous lower class. It's most simply described as military culture and chain of command applied to the entire society.

American Left today is 80s style RW Conservative Republicans. Amd certainly on a global scale comparing similar countries and suddenly the Democrats suddenly find themselves entrenched in the Right.
