What do the individual religions that not only believe in rebirth / reincarnation, but also that it is better to break the cycle than not to... believe the requirements of breaking the cycle are?

For most Hindu sects, the breaking itself is called moksha. The requirement for moksha is the mystical experience/non-experience of nirvikalpa samadhi, generally translated as Self-realisation.

Sometimes the term moksha is used for either of the latter two, but technically, that would be incorrect.

Meher Baba stated basically that people are reborn until they've experience living every possible kind of human life which takes 8,400,000 lives. Then they enter the spiritual path and are finally realized after some time.

As far as I'm able to gather, this was not something that could be short-circuited.
