Creation of Hell

There clearly is a hell sir, it is spoken of in the Bible, however most do not know what it is, because of translators. Were you aware that the King James version of the Bible translated the Hebrew word Sheol 31 times as grave, 31 times as hell, and 3 times as pit? No wonder everyone is confused. Which of those three words define it best? Obviously grave, because that is what it is. It is not everlasting torture in a burning environment. People go there because they die, all who die do go there including Jesus who never sinned. The great news is that hell will be emptied during the resurrection Rev 20:13, and then destroyed v14

If sheol is the grave why does the Bible say that the wicked shall be turned to hell?

There are two roads sir, life and death Mat 7:13,14. The righteous will be given the gift of everlasting life, the wicked will be destroyed. The permanent judgment is found at the end of the book of Revelation which shows the second or permanent death of satan and all those who choose to side with him in the rebellion against God.

Destruction doesn't mean annihilation it means eternal separation from God. Why preach the gospel if hell was just annihilation?

They are gone sir, simple as that. When everlasting life is granted there is no longer a need for hell, which is defined as the abode of the dead that is why it is cast into the symbolic lake of fire to be permanently destroyed.

Everlasting life doesn't mean living forever it means living forever with God instead of apart from God. The dead going to heaven doesn't mean that heaven is hell, so hell doesn't mean abode of the dead.

That kind of settles it doesn't it Sky? We have very different definitions. I tend to lean toward the more conventional definitions. Eternal life being self explanatory and the dictionary definition of hell being the abode of the dead.

Why do you think we pray for others and preach the gospel if hell is just the abode of the dead?
