What do you think is the meaning behind this song and video? Also is that a crocodile or alligator in the video? Why is there a crocodile or alligator walking around ?

Halfway through.

Its a humble song from a confessing sinner. He's confessing to his lover that his conscience is bothering him, but he's not only confessing to her but to us and God. He also wants help from the lover in changing his ways. He could lie and keep things the same, but he feels compelled to reveal his debts. The crocodile is a reference to the serpent in the garden of eden and to lying, and the lockers represent many secrets. The singer wants to lie and is afraid to be honest. He's also seeing two sharply distinctive paths: absolute public confession versus sneaky low to the ground life. He doesn't believe people in the world are evil but that we generally are just a bit lost, and this is also upon his conscience. He feels responsible for that. He wants to count stars instead which means he wants to help everyone by putting his dark deeds behind him, and he either wants his lover to do the same with him or to support him in his own new course.
