Connecting Past, Present, and Future

Mindfulness means to establish yourself in the present moment, but that does not mean we can’t look into and learn from the past, or plan for the future. When we bring past events into the present moment and make them the objective of our mindfulness, it teaches us a lot. When we were part of those events, we could not see them as clearly as we do now. With the practice of mindfulness, we have new eyes, and we can learn many things from the past. If you are really grounded in the present moment and the future becomes the objective of your mindfulness, you can look deeply at the future to see what you can do in the present moment for such a future to become possible. The best way to take care of the future is to take care of the present, because the future is made from the present.
