City air that is harmful

Spirit of Light

Be who ever you want
For some time now i have been traveling in to Oslo because of study, and each day i get worse and worse in my breathing, my lungs are hurting and i even fainted the other day.
I am looking for a form of mask i can wear over my mouth and nose as long i am outdoor in Oslo. Does anyone know about a brand that is good and reduce the risk from the polution?

There are several on a google search for - best anti pollution face mask - ranging from a few euros to over €100. M

https://www.google.com/search?q=best+anti+pollution+face+mask

Or amazon for the same search, one with a good star rating should be ok

But looking at a real-time air pollution map for Oslo pollution does not seem so bad, mostly good to moderate with only one indication of unhealthy for sensitive people.

Perhaps a trip do the doctor for advice is called for?

Masks do not work. Go to your doctor as you have underlying respiratory issues which is making you more vulnerable to pollutants in the air. Probably asthma or COPD. I have asthma and am developing COPD but have nothing like the symptoms you bring up like passing out almost daily. Inform your doctor about your symptoms. Your doctor should schedule respiratory tests including tests using at need medicine like emergence asthma inhalers to determine if your lung capacity changed with medication.

Just to point out how much a difference examination and medical solutions work before my testing I had issues running and jogging. Nothing like your issue but it wasn't easy. Now I running daily as I have medication that does wonders. My location gets a lot of pollution from Vancouver due to the valley and wind coming from the Pacific. This forces pollutants east into the valley. Only during winter are winds coming from another direction, mostly from north-east. Point being there is a bottle neck near my location.

Many of the particles are too small for masks to work. The seal is unreliable outside a full heat piece or full suit. You can use filters in A/C or a filtration system unit. Those are fine enough to help making the indoor the best place to be besides leaving the city. Look at your government's tax website. A/C could be a deduction claim if used for a medical purpose. I get a nice deduction for my unit's installation/purchase as I have medical reasons for the use.

The medical tests are stress free and simple really. If you are given a prescription make the effort to provide feedback. I have gone through several different medicines over time before the current combination was discovered. It take a bit of experimentation as most GP's use reference text. Do not believe a minimum form of relief is acceptable. Maybe track your reaction for a record to provide your doctor. Attack day 1 at 9:00 am while on bus. Attack day2 3:00 pm while jogging. Make sure you record any attack you can remember at night. It helps to see if there is any change.

I dont know much about them but t does not have a very good star rating. I always go for 4 stars plus

The N95 looks better at a lot less money. I am sure there are others with higher rating
yes i just took it as a example to show what i thinking of :) I found a better mask now to a lower price too here in Norway :)

Using any mask when you have breathing issues is a bad idea. Again the seal isn't reliable as it only covers your face. Your face isn't smooth nor is the mask going to have the pressure to alter your facial structure to force a seal. Sports' masks are inferior to those used in the industrial and construction sectors which need to filter pollutant smaller than PM2.5.

I got this one, and today it really helped me to breathe more normal during my time in the city streets. It is made for allergy and asthma people, recommended by my doctor
