Charles Schultz Philosophy

The following is the philosophy of Charles Schultz, the creator of the
Peanuts" comic strip. You don't have to actually answer the questions. Just read the post straight through, and you'll get the point.

1. Name the five wealthiest people in the world.

2. Name the last five Heisman trophy winners.

3. Name the last five winners of the Miss America.

4. Name ten people who have won the Nobel or Pulitzer Prize.

5. Name the last half dozen Academy Award winner for best actor and actress.

6. Name the last decade's worth of World Series winners.

How did you do?

The point is, none of us remember the headliners of yesterday. These are no second-rate achievers. They are the best in their fields. But the applause dies. Awards tarnish. Achievements are forgotten. Accolades and certificates are buried with their owners.

Here's another quiz. See how you do on this one:

1. List a few teachers who aided your journey through school.

2. Name three friends who have helped you through a difficult time.

3. Name five people who have taught you something worthwhile.

4. Think of a few people who have made you feel appreciated and special.

5. Think of five people you enjoy spending time with.

Easier?

The lesson: The people who make a difference in your life are not the ones
with the most credentials, the most money, or the most awards. They are the
ones that care.

Without looking up the answers to #6:

2006: St. Louis Cardinals
2005: Chicago White Sox
2004: Boston Red Sox
2003: Florida Marlins
2002: Anaheim Angels
2001: Arizona Diamondbacks
2000: New York Yankees
1999: New York Yankees
1998: New York Yankees
1997: Florida Marlins
1996: New York Yankees

Assuming I didn't cross 2002 and 2003.

How did you do?

Sorry, I had to be a smart-*** :p

In your defense, I can't give a single answer to any other question. OK, perhaps Bill Gates and Warren Buffett are two of the five richest people. Maybe?

One thought that I live by:
'
"I love mankind, it's people I can't stand"
-Linus

Mine is a parallel "The only thing I can't stand about Human nature is human nature".

I got there by the story (I don't know if you yhave heard it), of the dog and the scorpion on the river bank; the scorpion could see the dog was going to wade accross the river, and thought "Man, I wish I could do that"..

So he says to the Dog "Can you give me a piggy back ?"

The dog says "What me ? Think I'm stupid ? - you'll sting me for sure - that's what you guys do"

The scorpion said "Now why would I do that ? _ I'd die myself, because I can't swim, go on............."

Thatmade sense to the dog; he let the scorpionclimb up on his back, and they are half way accross when the scorpion stings the dog; as he begins to sink, the Dog says "Why the heck did you do that ? Now we'll both drown???"

To which the scorpion answers "Sorry, I just couldn't help myself, it's in my nature...":cover:

I've seen that before. It's nice and makes a good point, I suppose. However, Charles Schulz didn't write that; it was mistakingly attributed to him.
