If it is invisible to your eyes or your other senses, why is it impossible that it does exist without you being able to detect it?
For something to exist, you must see it?

Can it be that other people can see and understand something you can't see or understand?

There are lots of things that exist without my detection, I know this every single time I come to learn of something that exists (for it is not that it was made when I came to know about it, but it existed independently of my detection, sight, and understanding before I received knowledge of it).

Our senses are pretty limited. We cannot see radio waves, ultraviolet light, or infrared light. We cannot hear ultrasound. We cannot sense radioactivity.

But our senses are NOT the only means of detecting things. As with the things above, we can use *other* things to detect them and convert that detection into something we can detect. So, we have built radios to radio waves. We have devices to detect ultraviolet and infrared. We have ways to detect ultrasound and radioactivity.

So, it is quite common to know something exists that we cannot directly detect with our senses. We can extend those senses using various devices and use those devices to detect things.

But, does it even make sense to say that something exists if there is literally NO WAY to detect it, even when our senses are extended. even in theory?

To *that* question, I would say that the existence, at that point, has no meaning at all.

Maybe our being can detect it, but humans have "forgotten" how it was done, so they must have a physical tool to be able to detect it.

If our 'being' can detect it, it should be possible to build some device that detects it. If you have a design for such a device, let someone know: I'm sure you would get a Nobel Prize for it.

Since I believe our being can detect those things by it self I don't believe we need physical tools :) spiritual practice is what is needed to open up the senses to detect what humans can't detect today.

But we can detect light using cameras even though we can also detect it using our senses. We don't *need* to detect it with devices, but we can. Why can we not detect 'spiritual' things using some device? It seems that the devices allow for *more* opportunities to detect rather than fewer (as witnessed by radio waves).

I think that something existing is seen
Seen with the senses, seen with the brain, seen in a tool

Tools only work in the physical realm, not in other realms of existence

Lots of things exist without us being able to see it, atoms for instance and other things we don't pick up with our senses. But assuming something exist, if we can't see it, opens the door for anything really.

Which is obviously why people believe in energies, astrology and other things. And if you don't believe in these things being true, then why would you consider anything else that you can't sense either to be more real than those?

But if all those things you mention here can exist, why is it so difficult for some to believe that a God can exist?

Such is the claim. But somehow nobody can show such realms exist.

Because you have to open up to it yourself:) that is what a spiritual practice is there for.

there are things outside of the five senses that can't been sensed.

But are the 5 senses all the senses you have?
What if spiritual practice opens up a bunch of new senses, way more sensitive than the 5 physical senses.

So you have to believe it's there even though you can't demonstrate it's there?

No thanks. That's not how logic and reason work.

Nothing else works like this. For some reason we have to make special exceptions to reason and logic for Gods? Nah.

It's much deeper than just a belief, it is a deep intuitive acknowledgement of something much greater than our self.
And no spiritual practice is not based on human logic, you have to put it aside.

Do you believe God is consciousness or a being?

The question assumes God is a being but many believers don't see it that way.

That's a belief. Also, something "greater than our self" doesn't have to be any God(s). I don't believe in any Gods but I realize the universe is "much greater than our self," for instance.
"Deeper than a belief" would be something you could demonstrate, which obviously, you can't.

Sorry then it's useless to me if I have to put logic aside. That's silly.
I mean, you can't even describe what a spirit is, let alone demonstrate they exist.

Can you think of anything else in your life where you suspend reason and logic and instead just believe? I can't. It seems it only applies to non-demonstrable religious beliefs.
