Bring thyself to account each day ere thou art summoned to a reckoning; for death, unheralded, shall come upon thee and thou shalt be called to give account for thy deeds.

We should look at our deeds for the day and judge and see how good they are, and try to improve them because we don't know when we are going to die and at that time if we haven't kept account we will be surprised at how bad our deeds might be, and we won't be able to make amends for what we did.

It seems I must bring myself to account when I get up in the morning. It seems the emphasis is to not dwell on the dark side of myself, see my progress from the previous day. See what you did wrong, after you have first seen any improvement, pray for progress, then leave that wrong behind, and not dwell on that wrong the rest of the day.
