Blessed are the Meek

I did not write this one ... but I kinda like it ...

Blessed are the Meek

Hello God;
This is the meek.
You know you said we'd inherit the earth?
Well ... is it alright to have it this week?

If that's alright by you ...
If it's something you can allow ...
We have been waiting a while,
Is it all right to have it now?

I don't mean to be pushy;
We met and had a chat
And one of the others suggeted it ...
But if there's a problem with that ...

But ... you know ...
The offer was there
And someone else has had it a long time,
So ... if we could just have our share ...

Hello God.
It's the meek; we spoke before ...
Remember, we inherited the earth
Well .. we've not got it any more
I'm afraid

We sort of let it go ...
This man said he wanted it
And we didn't like to say no.
I suppose we should have ...

But we've never had the knack
So the others have asked me to ask you
Can we please have it back?
We only had it fifteen minutes

This was our big day ...
I knew we wouldn't assert ourselves
I didn't like to say.
Perhaps we could inherit something smaller ...

Like ... a bicycle; that might be nice ...
Just one between all of us would do ...
I hope you don't mind the advice.
That's what you should have said;

"Blessed are the meek;
For they shall inherit a bicycle ..."
Is it all right to have it next week?

Hello God ...
This you're not going to like
I'm sorry to bother you again
But somebody's taken our bike.
We're not cut out for this are we?

The writing's on the wall;
"Blessed are the meek;
For they don't really want anything at all."
Perhaps that's the best thing;

We didn't want to cause all this worry;
In future we'll just keep quiet ...
One last thing, God ... sorry.
