It's the same as "edifying" except with an extra "d"

To copy and paste from a dictionary: "providing moral or intellectual instruction"

I don't particularly aspire to be able to provide mental or intellectual instruction but I liked the pun

From what I understand, American badgers are ferocious beasts whereas European badgers are sweet, bumbling woodland creatures

I'd rather encounter a European badger than an American badger
