Archeology, and the Great Pyramid at Giza.

It seems, that the Great Pyramid, was surrounded by smaller Pyramids, a number of them, unopened, by empty, when the chamber of the tomb of the Pharoah was opened. It seems, that the smaller Pyramids were 'proxies', for tomb raiders, but the great archeologists wanted to open the Great Pyramid first, and not the 'false' pyramid tombs. The great pyramid, seems to have been the main purpose of the smaller pyramids being built. They might have been built, before, the great pyramid, or started being built, after the great pyramid.

It would make the most "sense," for what that's worth, to put the actual Pharaoh's tomb in an unassuming (but well constructed) shack out back and have the Great Pyramids as the proxies :p
