But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:

Give thanks to God for our fellow Brethren.

In 2 Thessalonians 2:13 what is it saying?

Frank Goad,
Paul, the writer of Thessalonians, is praising the Thessalonians for believing the TRUTH and acting on what they learned, in spite of the persecution they received, Paul was making sure that they believed the Truth, because that is a vital requirement of all Christians, today, just as it was in the first century. Consider what Paul had written at, 1Thessalonians 2:13-16, where Paul was speaking of the persecution they were enduring. Then, notice the verses leading up to verse 14, in 2Thessalonians 2:3-12. Here Paul was warning about the coming of Lawlessness, which we see today, and the Love of Truth that God requires. This same requirement was written by John, at John 4:23,24. Here, Jesus was telling the Samaritan Woman that the Samaritans worshiped in a place that was not right, and that the time was, NOW for everyone to worship God in Spirit and Truth, or their worship would not be acceptable to God.
Worshiping God in Truth is vital today, just as in the first century!
It seems that almost all religions have been corrupted over the centuries, so we must be careful that we find, what the Bible says, is the One Faith or, True Religion, Ephesians 4:4-6.
