American Catholicism is surely still very archaic.

Just think that in Italy, that is Catholandia par excellence, there was already a huge promotion of female nudity on TV in the 60s with emblematic chatacters like Sophia Loren, Gina Lollobrigida...etc...

Just think that in Italy, that is Catholandia par excellence, there was already a huge promotion of female nudity on TV with emblematic chatacters like Sophia Loren, Gina Lollobrigida...etc...

Hell, one can even take a tour of nude beaches in Italy.

But when it comes to nudity it isn't so much American Catholicism that's against it as it is American Protestants, particularly the fundamentalist leaning varieties.

I agree, I'm sure the average high school senior could have put together a far more coherent film. To say the least, it is simply stupid. But then communist fear mongers were never known for their intellect and competence.

Actually I remember watching it, or part of it in the 60's in grammar school. I think it was during science class.
