I’m afraid my posts sometimes merely cast allusions. While I am more comfortable with the protection metaphor and simile allow, they often seem to result in confusion and terminal misunderstandings. My view of the cosmos is somewhat less than “mainstream” apparently.
Although I am a bit...
This has become an interesting thread for reasons other than intended.
Perhaps I should explain:
The OP was, I thought, a cute, if not too subtle, put down of the theory of abiogenesis. The quote is a favorite of mine because it seems so dumb. Which is of course my take on abiogenesis.
My favorite offer of evidence for abiogenesis:
The theory of abiogenesis was proposed by Thomas Henry Huxley. The theory of abiogenesis states that the evolution of living forms from non-living matter is spontaneous. Example: Meat left open generates flies and maggots. This shows spontaneous...
Interesting. I'd never heard of this 'ism'. It makes a valid point I suppose. I am quite a firm believer but try to avoid the word 'God'. I find that using that word ultimately leads to misunderstanding and confusion.
I don't like to use the word 'God' very often. Too confusing.
My thought is that the universe is mental and we are the faces of that mentality.
"Our father who art in heaven"... "Let us make man in our image, after our likeness:"
I see you. You see me. We must be one. I see the universe. You see the universe. We must be one. I'm pretty sure I didn't create the universe. Guess I'm not an existentialist.
I think most religions obfuscate love. They speak of it as a force. The force is always with us.
I believe love is the emotion we feel when we begin to see behind the faces. Unfortunately, we try to grab it to get more and that just blurs the vision.
Ahh... The earth seems our mother. Also created by Him. Have you noticed how we walk handhold to handhold. We'll leave mom's cooking eventually. Unfortunately, some of us never want to leave. I look forward to being able to walk without holding on to something.
