Not at all, if it gives pleasure, I must admit though, I am getting a tiny bit fed up with going around and around, reading the same old c--p, how people can go through their lives quoting verses from the Bible or the Koran just blows my mind, and talking as if what they are reading about is...
Are we just wasting time here talking back and forth using the same words over and over, words that have no real meaning, words like: omnipotent, supernatural, angels, God, miracles, heaven, destiny, spirits, myths, deity, objective reality, divine power, theology or a hundred more that really...
God created man in his own image.
Why does everything said or written in the bible turn out to be a coded message, it can never be taken on face value, it always seems the words used are never what the speaker or writer meant to say or write, they meant to say this or that, but never what they...
Amen to that.
I don't think that will ever change because believing is only in the mind, and unless they can come up with 'thought' police people will always be free to believe what they want.
My understanding of being an Atheist means you do not believe in ANY Gods, and BTW, please read the 'Quote' below
The 'Quote' above gave rise to this thread.
I was wondering if there was a point at which even the most
religious person would say to themselves ' enough is enough ' even I can't...
With lots of the different religions represented here, with their different beliefs, and doctrines, is there any one thing you would find impossible to believe?
as an Atheist I would say religious people will believe anything, but even I know that is not strictly true.
I wouldn't be too sure about that, some of the stories in the bible could be seen as ramblings of someone who was not of the soundest of minds, take the beginning for instance, who is it intended for?
children? adults? and what is it supposed to mean? is it an opinion of how the earth was made...
A lot of people would like the church not to have gay priests, but I think we should
be more concerned about the child molesters.
Gays are easier to find (they will tell you they are gay) but a child molester will be
there for years praying on children without being noticed,
but which one will...
I am on topic, is asking people to believe in the implausible not to mention the impossible not a criticism of religion?
I thought Midnightblue gave some pretty implausible scenarios, didn't you?
And if you really think about it pages and pages could be written about the implausible things religions ask people to believe, and people all over the world believe them, it seems to be a prerequisite that common sense be suspended if you want to believe in a religion, but I suppose that is...
On second thoughts I think I will leave it for now, it sounds too much like hard work,
and whatever I come up with I will only be able to please a few people not everyone,
so you will all have to pick an imperfect religion until someone can get around to making a perfect one,
choose wisely mind...
That explains the coal and oil then, all made in 40 days, if you put your mind to it, it is that easy.
Well done.
Remind me, did the flood cover the whole earth?
I suppose the first question that needs answering is "are gays Gods creatures"? if you think they are, you should be pleased, if you think they are not, you should take a look at what you believe.
