    Urantia Book Questions

My father in law read this book 3 times to take in all of its contents. Then one day he woke up and threw it in the bin and said it was full of rubbish. I don't think he could comprehend it's contents as it is a heavy read. Consequently I have not read it. What he did tell me of it was...

1 in 14 priests accused of abuse

I was brought up a Catholic. Spent my entire primary school in a St Josephs convent and secondary school in a Marist Brothers college (Sacred Heart) and although I was never sexually abused I know that the priest who said mass every Sunday at the school chapel was gay and was caught as reported...

    Trying To Understand Atheism

I consider my self an atheist, previously a catholic for 45 years. There is no God. There are no gods. Period. In my humble opinion of course. Reason - we are constantly being told how wonderful god is and how he loves us, then I turn on the news! The god or gods people refer too are more...

    An interesting view of Atheism

I find this very comforting as someone who was brought up in a strict religion and who now class myself as athiest. I don't think I ever really believed but I find now that most of the people I meet have never had a religious background and are some of the most moral and loving people I know...

    God - real or imagined?

The acceptance of God whether real or imagined rests with the individuals belief structure! The truth is that God is not real, he/she is imagined and only an individual can, within himself, decide what he or she wants to believe. Some say you can't see the wind but it is real! Yes but we can...

    Science as a religion

I would disagree only on the basis that science looks at all kinds of and types of scenarios and tries to discover how it all works. It doesn't follow a set of values and beliefs and follow them blindly as religion does. Science doesn't worship anything.

Will Scientists be our future gods?

Surely scientists are gods in a sense because can create and manipulate and that is possibly our origin. Advanced scientists from another world? Who knows!

Science, why we should believe it?

I don't think science has concuded that has it? Maybe it has concluded that there is not a "Higher Entity" but it does open to the possibility of higher intelligent races in the universe.

    Any Raelians on here?

I consider myself a Raelian because I have read the books upon which their beliefs are based and came to the realisation that the answers to all my questions were finally made clear and I consider them to be true. They are not a "cult" or "whacko" religion, on the contrary they do not force...
