    What are ghosts?

LoL... Sure. You must be right, because you declare it, and that's all the proof I need. You've convinced me - ghosts are real, despite the complete and utter lack of all evidence.

    What are ghosts?

There's only so many times I can say "Show your proof" before I get tired of being called out to rebut imaginary evidence.

    Why does Biblegod play favorites?

Ah, well since I know of no creator, then I wasn't created. Thank you for backing up my assertion.

    Life On Other Planets?

Apparently only how to declare yourself unassailably right, even in hypothetical.

Getting Your Kicks From The Idea Of A Cruel Deity

Now that's a philosophy I can get behind.

    The Problem of Evil

Really? Where is he? Can I talk to him? Wrong. The existance of evil does not require your god. Hypocrisy? I don't think you know what the word means if you think you find it in that statement. Kindly point it out, though, and we'll see.

    Why not believe?

Hear, hear... Reasonable discourse tends to swiftly fall apart in such cases.
  8. Rystefn K'ryll

    What are ghosts?

You are a special kind of wrong.

    The Problem of Evil

Sorry, but none of your talking comes anywhere near to answering the actual question.

    Compartmentalisation

Human beings are capable of remarkable internal contradictions. The creative mind can rationalize almost anything given sufficent motivation, and the desire to not have been wrong about our beliefs is one of the most powerful motivators.

    Life On Other Planets?

Wouldn't affect my faith in the slightest... well, except perhaps some degree of affirmation.

    The Problem of Evil

No, no... Ad hominem is the fallacy of basing your argument on personal attacks. I merely sprinkle mine in to add flavor and spice. It's not like you were responding logically to any point anyway, so why not liven things up a little. I think the fact that you have abandoned your case altogether...

    What are ghosts?

I agree completely, and have written letters to networks on the subject.

    The Problem of Evil

LoL... Ad hominem. I'm not the one who feels the need to make up an imaginary friend to deal with the evils of the world in this conversation. But hey, if your delusions are the only thing that allows you to handle life, then that's your own problem. You wouldn't fight so hard against logic and...

    What are ghosts?

That's what the word "proof" means. All scientific ideas must resist determined attempts to prove them wrong. This is the basis of science. However, the issue here isn't anything like proof - there's not even a single piece of evidence EVER to indicate there MIGHT be such a thing as ghosts...

    What are ghosts?

I wonder about the veracity of any such documentary... Sounds like the sort of thing con artists make up to convince the credulous. Anyone actually proving something like "high levels of paranormal activity" would immediately win the Nobel Prize.

    The Problem of Evil

It's not that we are so insignificant (though we truly are, on any cosmic scale), merely that there is no divine agency to intervene for us. Feel free to attempt to refute that statement, but unless and until such a time as you do, the Null Hypothesis must stand.

    The Problem of Evil

If you can simply CHOOSE to believe something, your belief has no weight. I can only believe what is demonstrably true, to do otherwise is delusion. To choose delusion is a sickness of the highest order... Or are you prepared to demonstrate this intervention? I highly doubt it, as it never occurred.

    The Problem of Evil

Your lies and dodging will, however, make you wrong.

    The Problem of Evil

Right, thank you for showing another paradox inherent in the concept of an omniscient, omnipotent entity of any kind. The very concept contradicts itself. So millions of innocent children starve to death and are tortured for all eternity as some sort of test for me? Your god is a sadistic freak.
