You so sure so-called vestigal organs exist?

That just made my eyebrows recede into my hairline. My reply would be more articulate if I hadn't just woken up, but all I can manage at the moment is, "Yes, ma'am, I'm sure vestigal organs exist."

I hate it when that happens.........I wanted to type something else, so I stopped it. This is maybe the second or third time I do this. :(

It was also discovered that the tonsils, which were also included in Wiedersheim's list of vestigial organs, had a significant role in protecting the throat against infections, particularly until adolescence.

.. Which is why mine were removed when I was seven because of a strep infection that decided to make my tonsils home, right? Strep nine times in one winter is some protection, I tells you. XP

And my finces are so permenantly swolen they interfear with his breathing.
They should be taken out but he is a singer and fears damage to his voice, so he copes as best he can for now untill we can afford a safer (and more expencive) way to have them removed.

Don't worry about it - it is the journey to the goal that counts; not the winning.

I think the point there is that they USE to perform vital functions. We can remove certain organs that now only cause problems and live fine without them. Tonsils, appendix, even one kidney can be removed and we are at no loss for it. Maybe they all once served a function before, but the fact is that we can now survive without them. Our bodies have adapted to no longer have use of them.
