Question for muslims - Karkariya sufis ?

Hello everyone !
A sincere question for those who are culturally or reigiously Muslims :

The other day I was scrolling on TikTok and ended up on a livestream of two women in bright robes and hijab chanting the Coran. I stayed because I find Islamic chanting beautiful and because I have natural curiosity toward cultures I don't know (the other day I watched a livestream of a traditional Iranian catholic mass, it was very interesting !)

But to my surprise, basically EVERY comment on the livestream was from muslims invoking curses at the two girls, asking Allah to kill them or asking other users to fake mass report to live to get them banned... Many were openly mocking their religious robes, calling them clowns etc. Some said those girls were Karkariya Sufis and it was a very dangerous and heretic cult.

Tbh I know nothing about it and just found it weird to see muslims cursing with death wishes people who were chanting the Coran .__. But it got me curious. Does Muslims here have heard of those kakariya sufis ? Are they really a dangerous cult ? Or what they said there was exagerated and is just intolerance toward a different lineage ?

Hi,
I haven't heard of them,there are quite a few Sufi sects( Tariqas). The issue with social media apps is that there are a lot of trolls and armchair critics and I suspect a lot of them are teenagers. I'm not sure what they believe in, but I'm sure they aren't a dangerous sect. I actually like their colourful sweaters.

I know if I would state a lot of my beliefs, I would be deemed heretic by majority of Muslims. I don't know why they are deemed heretics, but so many sufi lineages, it's hard to keep up.

Thank you for your answers I had no idea there was so many Sufi lineages, I always thought 'sufi' was the name of a single one ! Happy to have learned something new.

I have not come across the livestream again but I hope they are okay and still happily chanting the Coran for everyone
