Here is something I found to help me explain why Maitreya is, "the One Whom God Shall Make Manifest"; however Baha`u`llah is also that same spirit, but really, the Qaim was not to happen until a longer period of time, longer then when Baha`u`llah declared his works are from God; Baha`u`llah`s works were from God though. The following is an artical I found about Bab, the whole artical you can read, I just copied the part about how the historical part of the Bab ministry has be altered by the modern day bahais.
From Babism to Baha'ism:
Problems of Militancy, Quietism, and Conflation
in the Construction of a Religion
By Denis MacEoin
...Over seventy years ago, E.G. Browne wrote that 'the more the Baha'i doctrine spreads, especially outside Persia, and most of all in Europe and America, the more the true history and nature of the original Babi movement is obscured and distorted'.
[The Báb's early doctines, however, started to change in 1848 when he abrogated Islamic law. In his later writings the Báb described the divine or eternal essence to be unknowable, indescribable and inaccessible. The Báb compared the divine to the
sun which remains single, although it appears under different names and forms in the persons, prophets, whom it is in manifested in. Some of these teachings exhibit features common to earlier ****e sects such as the
Ismailis and the Hurufis.
[2][25] However, his teaching on the need for successive "prophetic cycles" is completely an original conception.
[He also interpreted Shi'i eschatological terms, such as "resurrection," "Judgment Day," and "paradise" and "hell.".
[2] He stated that "Resurrection" means that the appearance of a new revelation, and that "raising of the dead" refers to the spiritual awakening of those who have stepped away from true religion. He further stated that "Judgment Day" alludes to the time a new
Manifestation of God comes, and his acceptance or rejection by the Earth's inhabitants.
[26] Thus the Báb taught that with his revelation the
end times had come and the age of resurrection had started, and that the end-times were symbolic as the end of the past prophetic cycle.... If you would like to see how the Babis made thier time sequence for the next messiah you can go to thier website: the religion of Bayan,
www.bayanic.com And of course Baha`u`llah is also mentioned in prophecies, but the Seventh Angel, or the Qaim, was to come at a later time, and the Babis have a website and they will tell you all about it.Baha`u`llah is also part of this whole wonderful revelation of the Seventh Angel , "when the seventh angel opens the book of the seven seals the mystery of God should be finished",revelation, and Baha`u`llah is part of the revelation. It may not be how the modern day bahai expected things to be, but if you, 'get it', you will study the things Maitreya is talking about, you say, "how did Maitreya come off saying things about the Bahai Faith the way he does", then you look on the internet and see, "oh, yes, that is how Maitreya came to that conclusion". You see, Maitreya did get his information from somewhere, it does make sense, you don`t have to believe it, but you can, 'get it'.As I have been saying when asked the question about the confusion that is created by the Bahais when they say it cannot be true that God has sent another message before the 1000 years, that is, they think they confuse people when they say there must be 1000 years, no ifs, ands, or buts about it, a pretty solid account of what they are asking God to do, that it has all been explained what is going on here, by the one and only, Seventh Angel. And as I mentioned this does make sense, so you just have to, 'get it'.The fifth church in revelation is the church of sardis. The part of the scripture is, "I see thy works are not perfect before God". this is how God predicted how Baha`u`llah would fit into His Great Plan, and His Plan is very wonderful: the Eternal Divine Path, which clarifies the confusion between all. So first off, Bab already taught the main message of Bahai, which is universalism, so Baha`u`llah did not bring the original message but enhanced the message and greatly helped it to spread world wide. We may have never heard of Babs teachings if it were not for Baha`u`llah. Also the Twin Prophets were predicted. So Bab`s religion was, "not perfect before God", so Baha`u`llah was chosen, was a chosen one, was God`s messenger, but Baha`u`llah was not the Seventh Angel. And as Bab`s teaching were also very mystical, using numbers, letters and charts, Babs teachings indeed had an esoteric flavour to them also, this is why Baha`u`llah used the numbers etc in hidden terms, such as Hidden Words, where Baha`u`llah himself is writing prophecy about the, "the one whom God shall make manifest", or so as is implied by me(also John Carre). The Hidden Word speaks of the Third Letter. The mystical word, Baha, has three letters in the abjab reasoning, BAH`. Then comes the phrase, "oh people of Baha". Oh people of three letters, doesn`t say? The "clear meaning", of something is what? Look in the Bible, in Revelation, and see what and where it says about the 1000 years, then do some research in where the Bahai revelation goes to in Revelation, (Bahai studies have shown that with the Bahai revelation, the complilations that have been made, we are not to or in the end times, according to the Bahai themselves), so you will find that the Seventh Angel is somewhere in the, "bahai future". As was fortold, the Seventh Angel will make all this clear, i.e. what is the meaning of the 1000 years. Of course there is Maiterya`s Greatest Sign as clear evidence of his divinity, were you to look at it. See, by looking at it, as you study the things about God and His religions, and all that confusing stuff... it is not confusing. Try it, the answer is here:
