The tribulation began with the revelation of Shrii Shrii Anandamurti,(Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar), the Ananda Marga organization, which is global spiritual and social service movement, beginning in 1945. Maitreya says this becuase the Sixth Church mentioned in the Book of Revelation describes the Ananda Marga organization. Briefly, and please go to, Revelation of a Revelation in THOTH for the complete meaning, if you wish, : the time period is also when the real confusion on a global scale began, 1945.
It says in the bible that after the Seventh Angel opens the book of the seven seals there will be a short period of silence then a great tribulation will begin when 1/3 of humanity will be destroyed. Maitreya opened the book of the seven seals in 1977, and completed his revelation(message), in 1984, as was predicted by John Carre and Benjimin Creme, (the other prophecies fulfilled, relating to scripture, can be found on the website), so from 1984 till now is the time of the brief silence, after today I could not say when the great tribulation will start.

Dennis MacEoin is a world class thinker, if you're goping to follow an act like that, try to keep up.
I'm sorry for the la dee da, but it's been a year or so you've been telling Baha`is what they think, and you haven't gotten it right once. Pick on Christians or Muslims for awhile.

Don`t let it bother you Scott, that I keep saying things about the Bahai Faith. I have every right to express my religious ideas, and this forum in particualar is designed just for that, so you mays as well get comfortable, I will be here as long time yet.

HI, AND what about the very first verse of Revelation which says that these things which MUST SHORTLY COME TO PASS (Rev.1:1) - ? Not in the 1900s.

So, "shortly come to pass", is working on God`s time scale. Lots of people have said the tribulation would happen last century and the century before and one before that etc. etc.; people have said that it happened to the early christians. Many people became frantic about the book of revelation during world war two, which seems an appropriate date since we were looking at the world on a global scale like we had never known, and also the Bahai temple was destroyed by an earthquake.
