Loved by God?

How can you know whether or not you are loved by God?

If you believe you are loved by God what makes you think so?

And do you believe you are able to tell if others are loved by God?

Personally I have a degree of faith that I am, based on the teaching of my religion but I suppose I will only find out for sure after I die......

I don't have much relationship with the one-god, but one of the things I do remember from my very brief tenure with Catholicism as a child was the teaching that God grants unconditional love to all beings. There is no need to "know" if God loves you, because being omnibenevolent is simply one of God's inherent attributes. It is one of the things about devotion to the one-god that makes me deeply sympathetic to those who worship Them. There is tremendous comfort in the sense there is always someone looking out for you, who loves you. I never needed that from a god growing up; I had my parents. They taught me what unconditional love looked like, and my mom especially was basically one of God's angels on Earth. When she died, I really understood on a deep and experiential level why so many worship the one-god. We all crave and need that person who looks out for us and loves us. Some never had that in their mothers and fathers.

I believe that we are all loved by God. The evidence in my own life is that when I turned to Him in desperation, He was there.

"Faith is putting your hand out in the dark, and finding it held."

I don't know who said that originally.

Probably the most well-known statement in Bible about God's love is John 3:16: "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.". This verse tells us the uttermost gesture that shows His love is wishing so much a relationship with people that He was willing to give what He had of most precious to make it happen. The verse says "whoever believes", which means Salvation, hence His love, is to everyone, not to a particular group of people. The universality of His love is also reinforced in 1 Timothy 2:3-4: "This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.".

On a personal level, those who accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior can experience this love constantly in their lives. Here are some examples:
  • When we see His promises being fulfilled;
  • When we seek Him and feel our hearts exploding with love and joy;
  • When we feel an unexplainable and profound sentiment of love for Him and his Work, making us see life in a whole different way;
  • When He grants us the power of the Holy Spirit, making us capable of doing things we never would have imagined we could.
Hope I could help!

Best regards

I believe that God loves mankind in general..
..which is why He sent us messengers from amongst ourselves,
to teach and warn.

If you believe you are loved by God what makes you think so?
I don't think that God would not love us, unless we follow satan.
I don't believe that God loves iniquities.
A person who is guilty of major sin needs to repent in order to obtain God's love.

And do you believe you are able to tell if others are loved by God?
..as above..

Bridging the Gap Between Believers and Skeptics
With the utilities I am currently offered I enact generosity among myself, my friends and family. Generosity is a trait that helps me show that I love and care for the ones I value the most. I expect no love from God, rather, I create the love that is the change between myself and the ones I cherish. When they appreciate my love they show it with their own generosity. The cycle continues.

I doubt anyone can know God loves them.
But belief may stand in as a sub-quality substitute.

In my opinion.

I think I am loved by God, because I have life and that I can read and understand the wisdom in the Bible.
