God and the Left Hand Path

The Sum of Awe

Brought to you by the moment that spacetime began.
The left hand path places much focus on the Self as the driving power and motivator for spiritual growth.

The right hand path places much faith in external forces as the driving power and motivator for spiritual growth.

Isn't it likely that it's the same force, different focus? Perhaps what is held in common is: optimism, faith, and determination?

Are they growing into the same thing as well? I don't know if Left Hand Path philosophy has an equivalent to "enlightenment" or any spiritual endgame like that.

The LHP is about the realization of the Self.

Which is nother way of saying we learn to recognize the Divine within All. Starting with the Self.

If the LHP is about the realization of the Self, what is the RHP about in your opinion?

Left handed see some things opposite that are traditionally considered virtues.

Right handed, humble yourself. Left Handed, Glorify yourself.
Right handed, restrain desires for greater good and limit pleasures (do some, just do not over exceed). Left handed, embrace desires and pleasures and maximize it as much as possible.
Right handed, some rules (can be marriage, muta, or other forms of agreements). Left handed, no set of rules for sex practically.
Right handed, do not harm with magic nor push people by it/do not bind people to unwanted spells. Left handed, you may use it for benefit or benefit of greater good, binding spells to people who do not want it can be okay and is often okay.
Right handed, live for others more then yourself. Left handed: Everyone focusing on themselves primarily and their own happiness is key to success over all for society.
Right handed, learn from others higher in enlightenment. Left handed: do not trust authorities or others to think for you

Wiccans sometimes say we are more on side of left handed, some (most it seems) say more towards right handed, some are a mix and do not believe in the dichotomy.

It's interesting, I always thought of my theological position to be more right handed since I conform to what I believe is God and believe in acceptance rather than rebellion and God's will is greater than my own. However based on your points I think I am more left hand.

A lot of things and divisions are semantic based. And people argue over definitions too.

Gods are often embraced in the left hand path as well. God(s) can operate as a “driving power and motivator for spiritual growth” in both LHP and RHP.

The way I see it…

It is true that the LHP is far more individualistic, which is why so many LHP groups fail at what they set out to do and fade away into obscurity. An LHP Weltanschauung is typically not a shared experience. LHPers are often their own spiritual guides, drawing from whatever sources they find strength in. They may or may not embrace gods, and they may or may not feel guided by them, but when they do it is often directly and without the interpretations of middlemen. They exalt and prioritize their own True Will (or whatever they perceive the Will of their gods to be, as well) far above the Will of their fellow man, even beyond the “shoulds” and “should nots” of the world around them.

RHP Weltanschauung tend to excel in large groups. The religious community and leaders of RHPers tend to be far more involved with the individual’s spiritual development and relationship with God(s) (if gods are embraced) providing a solid foundation for spiritual growth and a roadmap to become a better person.

Those who excel in the RHP are lions. Those who excel in the LHP are tigers.

The Latin words for right and left are Dexter and Sinister. respectively. The left hand path was the sinister path. While the right hand path was connected to dexterity. This is based on collective human symbolism from ancient times.

In modern neural anatomy, the left hand/arm is cross wired into the right brain and the right hand/arm is cross wired into the left brain. The Dexter path uses the left brain which is associated with differentiation, reason and language; conscious will and dexterity. The Sinister path uses the right brain which is more connected to creativity, emotions, intuitions, symbols and integration; unconscious mind.

The tradition of the right hand being preferred; right hand of God, was connected to getting everyone to use the left brain more; more will power and ego. The right brain and sinister was more taboo, since conscious evolution was heading us more to the left brain, so we could differentiate the world via science and increase the standard of living for all. Religions still used the right brain; faith, to help maintain neural balance and completeness. God is a symbol of completeness.

Prophesies seems to indicate a future shift back to the right brain. Science might see this as sinister. The goal is to migrate the ego back to the other side, which is more 3-D data processing. We now have the benefit of the left brain already developed over several thousand years. This was not the case in ancient times; dark ages. This shift is symbolized as Jesus living among the humans for 1000 years; become more conscious of 3-D thought processing; right brain, using what we learned in 2-D; left brain.

Before civilization humans were more instinctive. Humans were originally more right brained. The ancient world was different than today, because the human ego was more fragile and more conscious of the right brain, while the left brain was less conscious. This is the opposite of today; BC versus AD.

The ancient world by being more right brained, explains why the world view of advanced cultures was often broken down into the specialty gods of mythology, as the controlling factors. These gods were projections of their conscious right brain archetypes or personality firmware, derived from instinct, which controlled the expressions within the less conscious left brain.

If the left brain was more unconscious and less under willful control, one would have had a difficult time, coming to a willful left brain focus; loss of soul. One would need to pray to the god or goddess connected the behavior they wish to do; trigger right brain firmware for farming. The 3-D firmware would output to the left brain and carry the ego along via the output. This was sort of like scaffolding for the ego as it developed; secondary center.

A modern example would be writers block. You sit down to write but you cannot come to a focus to get started. Once the firmware kicks in the ideas flow and you more or less scribe what comes to you. You may even learn something or marvel at your creation. One would be hard pressed to duplicate output this since it did not exactly originate from the ego and left brain. Written language was very important since it offered a way to record such unique output for review.

This brain hierarchy and dynamics; right to left, explains the high level of sophistication, at a time where science was very thin and superstition high. The building techniques of Egypt or Rome, all without modern tools and computers, was connected to right brain data processing. They had the benefits of 3-D neural firmware to do the data crunching; gods would teach them, with the left brain output very sophisticated, once the firmware got rolling.

The right brain is also connected to our instincts and emotions which can also bring the ego a strong sense of focus and drive; fight or flight. Characters like Hercules who was part god and part man would have been someone whose right brain output was more or less continuous to the left brain so he could push the boundaries of human strength; inner animal.

Modern people like to attribute the ancient technical sophistication to aliens and advanced tech, but the human brain has untapped capacities that were more conscious in the ancient world. It make less sense to us since our world view is more 2-D; science and reason.

Going from BC to AD was connected to the ego gradually leaving the sinister right brain and moving to the dexter left brain; arms are cross wired to the brain. The Dark Ages reflected this shift which took centuries to complete. It led to will power, individuality, and age of reason. The future upgrade appears to be a reversal, back, to the right brain, but with the modern ego and left brain more developed as the pendulum shifts.

The left hand path places much focus on the Self as the driving power and motivator for spiritual growth.

The right hand path places much faith in external forces as the driving power and motivator for spiritual growth.

Isn't it likely that it's the same force, different focus?
They are related forces but not the same. The internal force of the Self is a divine spark. The external force ( God ) is the source of the divine spark. The benefit of RHP is that one can commune and be inspired by the source rather than the Self.
