Concepts of hell?

Hell.

El a name given to God power by my brother a he self...man male.

By his will.

I will do what I want personality.

Says he will or he'll.

Being life sacrificed by science causes whilst living inside it's heavens. By a nasty minded theist human.

As thinking does not exist anywhere else

Hell is an large abusive Christian woman on a bus who asks me if I have heard the word [of Christ]. She become abusive and threatening, and I couldn't get off the bus in the middle of traffic.

When someone interferes with my life, threatens my life or limb, and won't stop....that's hell.

Hell is when radical Christians vote in huge numbers for politicians who ignore the poor, make wars, destroy the environment and economy, then pretend to be humble. They appoint radical judges who overlap the next many president's terms.

Much of hell is experienced on earth. It is incentive to follow God, not other Christians. It shows you what the afterlife would be like if you go to your reward with the wrong people.

To me, hell is just a tool used to create fear. I just spoke to an RF poster who said that he believes in Christianity because he fears hell and burning forever in the lake of fire. It is especially a fear tactic because nobody can prove that it exists.

As for the Bible's take on hell, if one reads the books as the individual books that they are, the books of the OT doesn't seem to speak of a hell, a lake of fire at all, but the NT books, mainly the Book of Revelations, seems to introduce the concept.

My concept of "hell" - basically what I can't help being brought to mind when I hear the word, is a place of unrelenting torture. Not even necessarily hot, though fire is an obvious torture device. But a lot like the various clever tortures you can read about in Greek Mythology (Tantalus experiencing extreme hunger and thirst, surrounded by food and drink, but each time he moved toward any of it, it moved away - or Sisyphus rolling a boulder up a hill for eternity). The Greeks were actually a lot more direct and imaginative in their naming of the tortures - and I feel that, modern, generic ideas of hell as a torturous place must actually come from those ideas of Hades - because The Bible barely even mentions the idea, let alone any specifics at all.

When you are just a human doing all thought of themes then it is a human teaching for humans

Fear. What science cares less about. The human condition.

Therefore if you tell a story to invoke fear when fear is a part of the psyche that forced us to use choice in life for safety then infer it's reasons for human safety.

Good afternoon Ray Warren. The word that has been translated 'hell' in the King James Version is Hades in the Greek and it means the common grave. The old Saxon word "hell" is derived from or means "hole". It does not have the same connotation as "Gehenna", the lake of fire that will destroy sinners.

2 Thessalonians 1:7-10 describes Gehenna:
"and to you that are afflicted rest with us, at the revelation of the Sovereign Yahshua from heaven with the angels of his power in flaming fire, 8 rendering vengeance to them that do not know Yahweh, and to them that do not obey the good tidings of our Sovereign Yahshua: 9 who shaft suffer punishment, even eternal destruction from the face of Yahshua and from the glory of his might, 10 when he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be marveled at in all them that believed (because our testimony to you was believed) in that day."

Yogananda talks about astral bodies corresponding to heaven and hell in his book, ' The autobiogprahy of a yogi.'

It's quite possible that the mind survives death and attracts to itself that which corresponds to its actions or karmas during its physical life on earth.

There are obviously wicked and cruel people along with gentle and compassionate people, and such souls or minds attract similar astral dimensions corresponding to the content of their unconscious minds or karma.
