Don't know.

All I know is I am on the side of the protesters. Those who march with a message, long coming, and peacefully.

And those who don't declare an ultimatum by some random member of a forum.

What "side" of history shall I be on.......you tell me?

That's up to you. What side am I on? What have I been talking about for fifteen years on this forum?

I am against rioting.

That said, rioting was inevitable. Beyond the toxic political environment and frustration from the pandemic, there's the racial tension that peaceful protest has seemed to have had little impact on.

Yet now...

I think it's necessary to understand that minority communities suffer from trauma by being a marginalized group with economic and social hardships. Responding to violence with violence in this case reinforces the trauma. And hence the vicious cycle that is American racial history.

But again, I don't condone the looting and destruction. It damages the resources that many of these folks desperately need. Unfortunately, people appear to ignore what should be the main focus of the protests, and equate the rioting with that. (Which I am sure is purposeful in some cases.)

I mostly had the bootlickers who are demonizing the protesters and glorifying the cops with that line in mind.
