Curious question

If I were to convert religion, say to Christianity, would devoting time to studying Death/Reaper be seen as wrong in the eyes of God? Would I have to give it up?

It may sound silly, but I am curious.

IMO, Go for it.

What is more important to you. I would have to say that most faiths boil, your relationship with a supreme being and your relationship with your fellow human being. I would say if does not hurt those relationships, then you be jammin.

Soultype01 everybody examines and studies death. It is kinda in our nature. It is one of those things that transcends all religions and philosphies.

Well, one: I don''t intend on becoming christian, and two: I meant the Reaper himself.
The "demon" not the end of life.

I don't see anything wrong with a purly acadmic study of the Reaper image. I am a Catholic, as my profile says, and the Church is filled with people studying demons. Whole areas of theology are devoted to the questions of the nature of hell as well as, forgive my spelling I am pressed for time, exorcism, the removal of demons. To be able to combat something there must be some understanding thereof, so I would say no, the would be nothing wrong with studying a demon.

However, the study could become something more than just the study. To worship or invoke a demon would be wrong, however, assuming that you ever do become a Christian I doubt that is something you would be doing.

Hmnnnn,

There is no reason to study the insignificant once you have decided to follow the significant.

Hey Soultype! Just about every single religion forces you to think about death (the symbolic Reaper). You shouldn't feel as if you have to give up your fascination with the Reaper if you are thinking of converting to a religion. There's nothing wrong with being interested in something.

I can't see why it would matter. It might be "taboo" for some people, but it isn't explicitly wrong.

In perspective of the God of Christianity, he doesn't exist. He is mythical and not "real". Ergo, when one chooses a belief, others will pale in comparison.

Since death for all of us is inevitable I don't think there is anything wrong with studying it or Reaper...If you find out anything interesting will you share it with us?

Depends on whether anyone is interested.

But, I would no longer to be able to believe in the reaper if I was to follow God.Death is inevitable, yes, so therefore it would be logical to believe in that. But the reaper is not as believable.

Something about a robed Skeleton carrying a sickle IS hard for some to believe.

SoulTYPE,
I'm sure there's plenty of stuff in Kaballa on "The Angel of Death" you could get into;)

True but do you know where the first symbol of the reaper came about? I don't; but the first time I remember seeing it in my life was on 'A Christmas Carol"
