I have some deep question about God, help!

who in their right mind would choose the latter?
No one would. And God would not be Loving and Just unless someone choosing were fully aware of the consequences of their choice and of God's existence, true nature, and power. It's especially ludicrous that you should believe religious preachers telling you the info. The idea of choosing where you will end up, of eternal salvation; it's all a fictional story.

It is a Baha'i belief that the human soul comes into being at the moment of conception, and that is when life begins. So abortion is taking a life. Even the morning after pill could be aborting a life, depending upon when conception took place:

Conception itself can occur anywhere between a few hours and 5 days after intercourse. This is because sperm can live inside your uterus and fallopian tubes for up to 5 days. If during that period you ovulate (release and egg from your ovary), then the sperm can come into contact with the ovum to make an embryo.

That is a leap of faith on your part - you are using circular reasoning - quoting from a text purported to be written / inspired by God - to justify the existence of God
nay....I don't believe in god because of scripture
or dogma
or congregation
or religion

Chapter Two reads like a science experiment

...Where does it say they rejected God? The person who never heard the rule from God gets it wrong and thinks it looks delicious so she eats it. All the threats and boons promised meant nothing to her. It's like threatening a 1 year old with more complicated taxes when they don't even know what money is.

They both knew what God had said. And then they ignored it and so rejected God. If they didn’t understand, then they should have asked what it means. There are just no excuses for what they did.

Some believe the god of the Bible made all beings predestined. So god didn’t make Satan knowing what the outcome would be?
That's apparently what some believe. I don't.
The reason being, the scripture makes clear to me that we are not predestined, because it says...
1. God gave everyone the freedom to choose their own destiny -
Deuteronomy 30:19, 20
19 I take the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you today that I have put life and death before you, the blessing and the curse; and you must choose life so that you may live, you and your descendants, 20 by loving Jehovah your God, by listening to his voice, and by sticking to him, for he is your life and by him you will endure a long time in the land that Jehovah swore to give to your forefathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.”
They are scores of scriptures, that agree with this.

2. The Bible helps us to see that God does not know what choice we will make, or if we will gain salvation. It's up to us.
Zephaniah 2:2, 3
2 Before the decree takes effect, Before the day passes by like chaff, Before the burning anger of Jehovah comes upon you, Before the day of Jehovah’s anger comes upon you, 3 Seek Jehovah, all you meek ones of the earth, Who observe his righteous decrees. Seek righteousness, seek meekness. Probably you will be concealed on the day of Jehovah’s anger.
Ezekiel 18:30-32
30 “‘Therefore, I will judge each one of you according to his ways, O house of Israel,’ declares the Sovereign Lord Jehovah. ‘Turn away, yes, turn completely away from all your transgressions, so that they will not be a stumbling block bringing guilt upon you. 31 Rid yourselves of all the transgressions you have committed and acquire a new heart and a new spirit, for why should you die, O house of Israel?’ 32 “‘I do not take any pleasure in the death of anyone,’ declares the Sovereign Lord Jehovah. ‘So turn back and live.’”
2 Peter 3:8-11
8 However, do not let this escape your notice, beloved ones, that one day is with Jehovah as a thousand years and a thousand years as one day. 9 Jehovah is not slow concerning his promise, as some people consider slowness, but he is patient with you because he does not desire anyone to be destroyed but desires all to attain to repentance. 10 But Jehovah’s day will come as a thief, in which the heavens will pass away with a roar, but the elements being intensely hot will be dissolved, and earth and the works in it will be exposed. 11 Since all these things are to be dissolved in this way, consider what sort of people you ought to be in holy acts of conduct and deeds of godly devotion,
(Hebrews 10:35-39; Habakkuk 2:4)
Scores upon scores of scriptures agree with these.

The account of Sodom and Gomorrah is a good example.
The angels went down to the city. They urged Lot and family to leave. When they were dilly dallying, the angels took hold of them, and brought them out of the city, and told them to flee, giving them stern warning of what not to do. When Lot's wife did what the angels warned against, she died. Genesis 19:1-23
All had the same instructions. All had a choice. Their choice meant life or death.
This was always the case from the get go.
Jehovah gave all his creatures free choice / will - including the angels.

So, in my view, the teaching of predestination is not in line with the scriptures. God however, does look into the future, when it involves a specific will or purpose. For example... He knew how Jacob and Esau would turn out, and he knew who the king of Persia would be during the time he was going to destroy Babylon.
Those are specifics related to a purpose he has in mind to carry out. So no one can thwart it.

As the almighty, God does not need to know everything. That's what I understand from scripture.

Hello,
I have some questions, that I can't find the answers to. (I'm still learning.)
I've been studying and asking God to show me answers to these questions, and yet I'm still so lost.
Hoping someone can help me out a little.

If God is all-loving, why is there a hell, and why do people constantly die needlessly and innocently?
(E.G. People dying of horrific things like being merely beaten to death by someone they never even knew, or suddenly contracting illness? Or dying of starvation, because they're so poor and couldn't get help? There are worse innocent deaths that happen all the time, but I'd rather not make this too graphic. You get the picture.)

Also, why is there a hell? The punishment of hells pain, torture and eternal fire is so sickening to think of. And thinking of the people who will go there, simply because they never knew God, or just happened to get caught up in something wrong, for a time and died. Eternal pain is the worst thing to experience. How is this love?
The bible states that his love is unconditional, but this seems to be a very conditional situation, to me. I'm confused.

If God is perfect and omnipotent, why does this all even exist? Can't he just wipe it all out, and destroy satan?
He is perfect, yet a mistake was made when satan was allowed to come in and interfere in the garden of eden, was it not? Should he not have interfered, then?
Also, being all-knowing, should he not have seen this all coming and prevented it?
Why would he chose to let us live in a world like this?
Also, how is having a choice between God, a perfect heaven of fluffy clouds vs. Eternal suffering and burning free will? It seems like a very forced choice to me, because who in their right mind would choose the latter?
I know the bible says in the end times God will do his final justice once and for all and make things right. However, that will still involve a lot of people going to hell, and I don't understand why he must let us suffer this way, until then.

Not looking to argue or get into anything, as religious discussions tend to go... just really, honestly looking for answers.
Hoping someone can help me understand these things.
Thank you.
Well I will give it my best shot! This life and this earth is a place of trial. Pilot said to Jesus; "Are you a king?" Jesus answered, "I am a king, but my kingdom is not of this world" on another occasion; " It is their hour". Note that God's sense of time is huge, and man's sense of time by comparison is small. Jesus said , "Soon you will see the Son of Man coming on a cloud". God is the source of all goodness ,and evil is his opposite. These two opposing forces must play out over a vast amount of time, like the stars in the heavens, until they achieve their final purpose, which is either heaven or hell. This is the greatest drama of all time, and you are a part of it. God wanted creatures who would love Him, and so He created angles and men, and he gave them the choice of good or evil, because He did not want puppets.

An ancient book that never misses the target- 100% accurate.
How well do you think humans in biblical times did with showing dominion over hippos, bears & lions with only a spear or a club? Genesis 1:26

Worship the lord thy god and none will have sickness, miscarry or be barren. Exodus 23: 25-26.

You may be able to significantly advance our space program by correcting incorrect beliefs of NASA. The think the earth is rotating & orbiting, 1 chronicles 16:30 clearly disputes this. They also believe the earth is round, but the Bible says otherwise- Isaiah 11:12.

Whilst the unicorn be willing to serve thee- Job 39:9 Finally! Evidence of unicorns
Again?
...and you used so little. Why so few? Can I help?

How about we start from the beginning.
Genesis 3:1 Now the serpent was the most cautious of all the wild animals...So it said to the woman:
What? A talking serpent? The Bible has snakes talking human language. Not to mention talking donkeys and burning bushes.
2 Peter 2:16 . . .A voiceless beast of burden speaking with a human voice.... (Numbers 22:28) . . .Jehovah caused the donkey to speak, and it said....?”
The man talks back to both the donkey, and the bush. So the Bible has accounts of men who either lost it, or thought that speaking to objects was normal. Yup... pretty much - they lost it. Whoa.

Moving along, we have...
Joshua 10:12-14 ...So the sun stood still and the moon did not move...
The sun and moon stood motionless together. So what's not moving? Skeptics... any ideas?

Judges 14:8, 9
8 Later when he was going back to take her home, he turned aside to look at the dead body of the lion, and there in the lion’s carcass was a swarm of bees and honey. 9 So he scraped the honey out into his hands and ate it as he walked along. When he rejoined his father and mother, he gave them some to eat. But he did not tell them that he had scraped the honey out of the carcass of a lion.
What...?
The Bible has a man scraping honey from the carcass of a lion... with swarming bees. Oh dear.
This same man lifted an entire city gate, off the walls - hinges and all, and walked up a hill with it. He also push down an entire palace with his bare hands... among other extraordinary things. ....???

Psalm 19:4 In the heavens he has pitched a tent for the sun;
Psalm 19:6 It emerges from one end of the heavens, And it circles to their other end;. . .
People thought that the sun is in a tent, and the heavens has ends. Oh my.

Psalm 58:8 May they be like a snail that melts away as it moves along; Like a woman’s stillborn child who never sees the sun.
Ha Ha. People thought that snails melted as they moved. They probably thought the sun melted them, so where the trail ended, that must be where the snail ended - gone. Poor snail... lol.

Psalm 74:17 You set up all the boundaries of the earth; You made summer and winter.
The writers believe there are lines around the earth. ...What am I reading?

Psalm 84:11 For Jehovah God is a sun and a shield;. . .
God is a sun. Okay then. So all the scientists have to do now, is find all the suns in the universe. Just find the one that has a shield... or look like a shield... maybe, they find God. Whoa... my head.
Actually, it seems they don't have to search that far. They only have to scour above the clouds.
Psalm 104:3 He lays beams of his upper rooms in the waters above, Making the clouds his chariot, Moving on the wings of the wind.
Um... but haven't they done that?
Waaahhh There didn't find God where he was supposed to be. Waaahhhh There must be no God. Waaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

Oh no.
Psalm 104:6, 7
6 You covered it with deep waters as with a garment. The waters stood above the mountains. 7 At your rebuke they fled; At the sound of your thunder they ran away in panic
The water ran away from thunder and lightning, so that mountains could form.
Stars fought against a man. (Judges 5:20) From heaven the stars fought; From their orbits they fought against Sisera.
Psalm 136:6 He spread out the earth over the waters,. . . What? I'm done.

Sorry. That was a lot.

I could write about thousand of these, but time and space would not allow me to talk about stars falling to the earth, and burning mountains falling into the sea...
Whoa. This speech is shocking! Who can listen to it?

Wait a minute... Why d those words sound familiar?
Ah. John 6:60 When they heard this, many of his disciples said: “This speech is shocking; who can listen to it?”
What did the disciples hear, that cause them to say that, and who said it?
John 6:61 But Jesus, knowing in himself that his disciples were murmuring about this, said to them: “Does this stumble you?
Wait. What? Jesus? Jesus said something shocking!!? What could he have said, and why?
What Jesus said:
John 6:35 Jesus said to them: “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will not get hungry at all, and whoever exercises faith in me will never get thirsty at all.

Why:
John 6:10-12, 22-26
10 Jesus said: “Have the men sit down.” As there was a lot of grass in that place, the men sat down there, about 5,000 in number. 11Jesus took the bread, and after giving thanks, he distributed it to those who were sitting there; he did likewise with the small fish, and they had as much as they wanted. 12 But when they had eaten their fill. . .
22The next day the crowd that had stayed on the other side of the sea saw that there was no other boat there except a small one, and that Jesus had not boarded the boat with his disciples, but his disciples had left by themselves. 23 Boats from Tiberias, however, arrived near the place where they ate the bread after the Lord had given thanks. 24So when the crowd saw that neither Jesus nor his disciples were there, they boarded their boats and came to Capernaum to look for Jesus. 25When they found him across the sea, they said to him: “Rabbi, when did you get here?” 26Jesus answered them: “Most truly I say to you, you are looking for me, not because you saw signs, but because you ate from the loaves and were satisfied.
They came for more bread, apparently.
Jesus gave them "bread", but it wasn't the bread they were looking for.
What I find interesting about this account, is that, the people demonstrated their true motives, by not trying to understand what was being said, but by finding fault with what was said.
It seems so familiar to me.
What I like about it is that Jesus did not try to adjust his words to be more palatable. He could have, but it appears he deliberately chose those words. Why? As he said, he knew there were not there because they appreciated spiritual things. They were there simply to get another belly full - another day, another meal.

I love that account, because it is no different than what I am seeing today.
From personal experience, I can say that one who studies the Bible seriously, with an honest humble attitude - opposite to having selfish motive, and haughtiness, they come to appreciate how simply marvelous and beautiful the Bible is, as the "pieces" (I like to refer to them as colorful gems) from its pages, fall into place, to reveal an amazingly beautiful picture - one that in my view, shows wisdoms at a level so far removed from human thinking. I have seen nothing in this world, remotely close to the value and truthfulness I find in the Bible.

Why are they only a few million who see this, out of the billions that read it? The Bible is the most available and widely read book. So why hasn't everyone come to know its truth?
Seems to me,..for one thing, the Bible says. Many false prophets have gone out into the world (Matthew 24:11, 12; 1 John 4:1). We know don't we, what exactly it is a false prophet does? He misleads, of course. What are the chances of many false prophets misleading many millions of people? I think about it this way... How much yeast do you put to your flour to effect rising? It's as Paul says right? 1 Corinthians 5:6 . . .a little leaven ferments the whole batch of dough. . . So it seems reasonable to me that as more and more false prophets arise, as it spreads, the truth will become less and less seen.

However, in my experience, I find that the truth is easier to find for a person who really wants it, and has the right attitude, namely a humble and honest heart. To me, they are not like those who have selfish motives.
Jesus has set an example I intend to follow. "Don't concern yourself with persons who find fault with what gives evidence of truth."

Apart from my finding it a pleasure that to millions of people, the Bible is a beautiful treasure - sweeter than honey. I also find it a pleasure to understand why it is not seen as a treasure to others. To me, it's said clearly in Matthew 13:10-30.

Is it not true that much of the language in the Bible appears to be illustrative? Also, does it not seem to require more than a superficial approach to study? Does it not seem to require humility?
From what I read, it appears that way to me.
Matthew 11:25, 26
25 At that time Jesus said in response: “I publicly praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and intellectual ones and have revealed them to young children. 26 Yes, O Father, because this is the way you approved.
Luke 10:21 ...you have carefully hidden these things from wise and intellectual ones and have revealed them to young children.
1 Corinthians 1:19-21, 27
19 For it is written: “I will make the wisdom of the wise men perish, and the intelligence of the intellectuals I will reject.” 20 Where is the wise man? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this system of things? Has not God made the wisdom of the world foolish? 21 For since, in the wisdom of God, the world did not get to know God through its wisdom, God was pleased through the foolishness of what is preached to save those believing. 27 ...but God chose the foolish things of the world to put the wise men to shame; and God chose the weak things of the world to put the strong things to shame;
1 Corinthians 3:18-20
18 Let no one deceive himself: If anyone among you thinks he is wise in this system of things, let him become a fool, so that he may become wise. 19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God, for it is written: “He catches the wise in their own cunning.” 20 And again: “Jehovah knows that the reasonings of the wise men are futile.”
Matthew 18:4 Therefore, whoever will humble himself like this young child is the one who is the greatest in the Kingdom of the heavens;

Can I ask a question... If the earth is a flat plate, how does it have four corners?

On the unicorn question...
Unicorn
Biblical
An animal called the re’em (Hebrew: רְאֵם‎) is mentioned in several places in the Hebrew Bible, often as a metaphor representing strength. "The allusions to the re'em as a wild, un-tamable animal of great strength and agility, with mighty horn or horns (Job xxxix. 9–12; Ps. xxii. 21, xxix. 6; Num. xxiii. 22, xxiv. 8; Deut. xxxiii. 17; comp. Ps. xcii. 11), best fit the aurochs (Bos primigenius). This view is supported by the Assyrian rimu, which is often used as a metaphor of strength, and is depicted as a powerful, fierce, wild mountain bull with large horns." This animal was often depicted in ancient Mesopotamian art in profile, with only one horn visible.
The translators of the Authorized King James Version of the Bible (1611) followed the Greek Septuagint (monokeros) and the Latin Vulgate (unicornis)[30] and employed unicorn to translate re'em, providing a recognizable animal that was proverbial for its un-tamable nature. The American Standard Version translates this term "wild ox" in each case.

Does the Bible support the existence of unicorns, which are mentioned in some versions?
The King James, Douay, and other versions, mention unicorns. But that is not so with modern versions that accurately render the Hebrew. - Psalm 22:21; 29:6; 92:10 (21:22; 28:6; 91:11, Douay).

...the Bible does not support the idea of unicorns as renowned in legend. It does draw an accurate, though limited, picture of the massive and fear-inspiring aurochs, or wild bull, that existed in Biblical times and down into the not-too-distant past.

Finally...
Psalm 104:5 He has established the earth on its foundations; It will not be moved from its place forever and ever.

Hmmm. The earth is on a foundation? I'm shocked!
I hope you got the point, JChnsc19. :)
From Matthew 13, Mark 4:9 . . .Then he added: “Let the one who has ears to listen, listen.”
Romans 11:8 . . .it is written: “God has given them a spirit of deep sleep, eyes that do not see and ears that do not hear, down to this very day.”
Isaiah 6:9, 10
9 And he replied, “Go, and say to this people: ‘You will hear again and again, But you will not understand; You will see again and again, But you will not get any knowledge.’ 10 Make the heart of this people unreceptive, Make their ears unresponsive, And paste their eyes together, So that they may not see with their eyes And hear with their ears, So that their heart may not understand And they may not turn back and be healed.”

And you know this how? There is a line that states that the true knowledge imparted comes from the primal light itself -
I agree it comes from the primal light, the question is where the primal light comes from.
Please, before you go touting the supremacy of the writings of Bahaism - take a moment to study the others around - I am done with this pointless debate!
The Writings of Baha'u'llah are not superior to any other scriptures, they are just more current.
I am not IN a debate. I do not debate, because that implies I am trying to prove something and win... I just share what I believe if people are interested and people can take it or leave it.

No, it doesn't, for all the reasons I've already given but, even if I did, making logical sense is the barest minimum necessity required to think something might be true - it is nowhere near sufficient reason to do so.
I agree, you need more than that to believe a religion is true. I meant that at a minimum it should make logical sense to you.

Why doesn’t progressive revelation make sense to you? Sorry if I forgot what you said before, I get lots of posts here and on other forums.
"Fulfilled prophecies" are two a penny. In all the rest you seem to be confusing evidence that Baha’u’llah existed, wrote what he did, and passed it on, with evidence that it is actually true.
No, I am not confusing those. But FIRST you have to know these things about Baha’u’llah before you can determine for yourself if they are true. That is the logical progression.

No, fulfilled prophecies are not two a penny. Only one could have fulfilled all the prophecies that Baha’u’llah fulfilled because they are very specific. Taken as a whole the Bible prophecies can only refer to Baha’u’llah, if one really studies them and knows how they were fulfilled More than one person has done this but this is the best book I know of: Thief in the Night by William Sears
Okay - I should have made this clearer myself. If god has not delivered (to everybody) a clear and unambiguous message, then it is playing a silly and unnecessarily cruel game of hide-and-seek.
No, because there is a good reason why God does not deliver a clear and unambiguous message to everyone. Simply put, everyone does not deserve to get such a message and that is one reason God uses Messengers; it separates the wheat from the chaff. That might sound rather harsh, but that is the way God operates. God wants believers who are willing to tow the line. If everyone got the same message that would be unjust because then people who did nothing to earn it would also get it. Should everyone get an MD without even going to medical school? Why should belief in God be any different? Some effort is required.
No but it does mean that your god (if it exists) is hiding its message.
It is not hiding anywhere. It is out there for all to see in the Baha’i Reference Library online.
Without getting into the general problems with "free will", an omnipotent and omniscient creator would have effectively designed all of our natures and all of our nurtures, that is all of our characters. Where then is there any free will?
God did not design our characters. We form our characters by the choices we make in life. We all have two natures, a higher spiritual nature and a lower material nature, and we have free will to choose and act according to one of those natures, thereby becoming who we become, the person we are. THE TWO NATURES IN MAN
Yes, I can - or rather I could if I thought a god existed. An omnipotent and omniscient god must be perfectly capable of delivering a clear and unambiguous to every single human. If it's an important message, then it is being unjust and unfair in not doing so - and limiting our "free will" as well.
Just because a God is capable of doing something does not mean that God is obligated to do it. An Omniscient God knows the best way to communicate to humanity; because God knows everything, God knows all the available options. If communication to everyone was the best way God would have employed it. This is what I mean by using logic.

God was just and fair because God has made the same message available to everyone, through Baha’u’llah. God is not obligated to hand deliver the same message to everyone just do people will not have to search for it and determine if it is true or not. That would not be just and fair to the people who are willing to search. People prove their sincerity and worthiness to have the message by working for it.
So this omnipotent and omniscient god is in capable of thinking of anything in between?
God is capable of thinking of anything, but that does not mean He is going to do what He is thinking of. God only does what God chooses to do, not what humans want Him to do. That is inherent in omnipotence, and that is what atheists totally miss. They say that God can do anything but they do not understand that the converse also applies; God only does what God chooses to do.

Isaiah 35 King James Version (KJV)

35 The wilderness and the solitary place shall be glad for them; and the desert shall rejoice, and blossom as the rose. 2 It shall blossom abundantly, and rejoice even with joy and singing: the glory of Lebanon shall be given unto it, the excellency of Carmel and Sharon, they shall see the glory of the Lord, and the excellency of our God.

Above Haifa, Israel, stands Mt. Carmel, proclaiming the Glory of the Lord has come.

What evidence shows he was their author?
It is common knowledge that Baha'u'llah existed and that He wrote the Tablets.
This is not just a religious belief and no atheist even argues with it...

There were witnesses who witnessed the revelation streaming in as He wrote His Tablets.....

Some of His Tablets were dictated to His secretary because it was difficult for Him to write after He had been poisoned many times by His enemies, but those Tablets were were immediately reviewed by Him and stamped with His official seal.
All of His Tablets were stamped with His official seal....

This is explained in God Passes By and The Dawn-Breakers, where the history of the Baha'i Faith is chronicled.

What happened with the Bible?
How many Bible translations are there in English?
Partial Bible translations into languages of the English people can be traced back to the late 7th century, including translations into Old and Middle English. More than 450 translations into English have been written. The New Revised Standard Version is the version most commonly preferred by biblical scholars.
