No, it's not that bad. Some burned cars and trash cans. You'll hear worse things happening on the next strike (nov 17).
Idiot teenager at the origin of this have been arrested. Whatever happened was just other stupid teenagers doing stupid things.

I don't get it why foreign news make it So ... hyperbolic. My mother in law actually laughted when I read the article title to her. "Riots" ? -snort-

Some parents will be hella disappointed in their progeny and will be summoned at police stations to do a lot of apologising. That's pretty much it.

Nobody cares here and nobody will talk about it tomorrow.

it time to start censoring entertainment because it can cause people to run amok?

The issue isn't with entertainment, but rather with the people/culture too easily influenced by it. It would be like banning steak because babies can't chew it.

Thank you for the input, what do you think the underlying factors were?

If it were your car that was burned, would you be content with an apology?

An apology might be sufficient if it were a five year old who had taken a candy bar from a store shelf and tried to get out the door without paying for it....

But someone physically old enough to procreate who burned cars, smashed store windows, attacked police with acid and set fires?

Uh.....no. I don't think an apology is the appropriate 'punishment' for this.

...................but don't mind me. I just take a very dim view of this sort of thing. I sat on the roof of my shoe store (well, it wasn't mine, I was just the manager) with my father's rifle in my hands in order to keep it...and the neighboring stores, btw...from getting trashed during the 1992 LA riots. This event has colored my opinion.

A lot.

And yes. I would have shot people. Glad I didn't have to. I think that the rioters headed for my store knew I would...so they didn't.

But they DID completely trash the mini-mall across the street.

What's changed? (shrug) THEN the excuse was the beating of Rodney King. In Paris, the excuse was a movie?

I'm glad I'm old. I'm sad that my children and grandchildren will have to deal with this stupidity.
