Exorcisms by Name

So what name is being implied as useful for driving away unclean spirits? is this implying unclean humans? or disembodied spirits? or both?

Matthew 7:22
Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’

Mark 9:38
[ Whoever Is Not Against Us Is for Us ] “Teacher,” said John, “we saw someone driving out demons in your name and we told him to stop, because he was not one of us.”

Mark 16:17
And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues;

Luke 9:49
“Master,” said John, “we saw someone driving out demons in your name and we tried to stop him, because he is not one of us.”

Luke 10:17
The seventy-two returned with joy and said, “Lord, even the demons submit to us in your name.”

There is an episode on dr who about stone Angel statues. That's exactly what the text is about. You only see em as statues but they will sneak up you if you aren't careful.

An exorcism is to drive away spirits from a human. It is for the benefit of the human, and it is performed on/against the spirits.
is it a non-resident spirit trying to incorporate in an occupied building. like the eviction of squatter?

if the owner of the house had known at what I hour the thief was coming, wouldn't he have stayed awake?

Possibly. Though a possessing spirit is "invited in" by its host, so to speak, so less like a squatter. More like a visitor who just won't leave after they've overstayed their welcome.

if the owner of the house had none at what I hour the thief was coming, wouldn't he have stayed awake?

Of course, assuming they realize the thief for a thief.

I am very skeptical about these things.

The only exorcism I have ever witnessed to was when I worked at school..

I saw a pupil who was really possessed...she was spinning her head, screaming inhumanly...
Then the teacher returned to the classroom and magically healed her...
...by giving her I-phone back....

:p

LOL

I see these things as all phycological states.

I 'exorcised' twice.
The first time was with a religious Jewish lady, who was really going bananas.
For some reason(long story) she believed that I knew "The True Name of God", so I said that I could not utter the Name, but could internally.
I sat with her for about 10 minutes in complete silence and she snapped out of it.

The second time was a Christian lady, who was screaming that she was occupied by a bad spirit. She was hitting her head trying to get it out.
So, I put my hands on her head and commanded the spirit leave, in the name of Jesus. It worked.

Belief is powerful.

The name is the name God gave to Jesus.

I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, keep them through your name which you have given me, that they may be one, even as we are.
